Lady Gaga on September VogueBehold - the Lady Gaga September Vogue issue!

After bumping shoulders with just about everyone in the fashion industry for several years - above all, with Anna Wintour - the "You and I" singer finally achieved the most coveted cover in the fashion industry. After having covered the fashion bible's March issue of last year, the pop singer has earned her dues.

Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the fuschia/magenta mermaid-style gown looks stunning on the 26 year-old singer; however, her hair seems to be a whole different story...

Jonathan Van Meter pens Gaga's profile (here's to hoping he can explain her newfound friendship with Lindsay Lohan) with additional photos (one after the jump!) by Mert and Marcus. The issue hits newsstands August 21.

Lady Gaga For September Vogue Cover

Lady Gaga on 'Vogue' last yearLady Gaga has landed the prestigious September cover of US Vogue.

The "Marry The Night" singer - who first posed for the publication in March 2011 - will be the fashion bible's cover star for its all important September issue, which is always the most lucrative edition due to its increased advertising.

Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - is currently on her Born This Way Ball world tour and so the cover has already been shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the magazine which is edited by Anna Wintour. The issue will coincide with the launch of Gaga's first fragrance, which is thought to be called Monster.

The controversial singer signed a deal with Coty Inc. - one of the world's largest beauty companies - in 2010, to create a range of perfumes but reportedly requested that the scent "smell of blood and semen."

Tyra Banks: I Used to Get Told I Was Too Fat

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models,

Tyra BanksTyra Banks used to get letters saying she was "too fat" when she was a size six.

The America's Next Top Model host has spoken out in support of Vogue magazine's anti-eating disorders initiative and she has slammed fashion designers for only hiring skinny models.

"When I was a model I was a four and then I started to become curvy and became a six and I got so many letters saying I was way too big and fashion designers were telling me I was fat. My mom got letters from designers saying they are not going to hire me anymore," she said.

The 38-year-old supermodel recalls being shocked at seeing models so skinny they had developed lanugo, a fur that can appear when a person is malnourished, and she is grateful to the publication's campaign for highlighting some of the issues in the fashion industry: "This is a really big deal as it's been an unspoken rule in my opinion that the fashion industry says it's OK to be as skinny as you can just as long as you can walk and you don't faint. I would see girls that had lanugo on their skin, a duck-like fur that comes on your body when you're anorexic when you're body is screaming out for warmth."

Carine Roitfeld Not Competing with Vogue

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Editorials, News,

Carine RoitfeldCarine Roitfeld insists her new magazine will not compete with Vogue.

The former French Vogue editor - who was at the helm of the respected fashion publication for over 10 years - is set to launch CR Fashion Book and promises she is creating "something different" to what is already on the market.

"The name's not a big surprise, but oh well. [It is a] celebration of fashion and creativity. Vogue is a very beautiful magazine, an institution, and I learned so much working there. You can't put yourself into competition with a magazine like Vogue; you have to create something new, something different."

The magazine will be produced in New York and over half of its 50,000 copies will be distributed in Europe - priced around $10 - with the remainder in the US and Asia. The quarterly publication will also have an online presence focusing on art, culture and fashion and not otherwise present in the print version.

Olsen Twins Are Vogue’s Best Dressed

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, News,

Olsen Twins on VogueMary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been named among the world's best dressed women, by US Vogue. The designer siblings grace the cover of this month's best dressed supplement, which pays tribute to their style as well as other famous sisters, including Duchess Catherine and Pippa Middleton, Beyonce and Solange Knowles and Dakota and Elle Fanning.

"It's been a year of sisters, most famously with Catherine and Pippa Middleton. Their style is short enough to be impossible for an older-generation royal to wear, long enough to be decent when sitting or bending down to talk to a child. But are there any more chic, stylish, cool, and original sisters than Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen? They are incredibly stylish," said Mark Holgate, Vogue Fashion News Director and Editor of the Best Dressed issue.

"I feel like Mary-Kate's constantly evolving. What she does is when she finds a proportion or a silhouette or a specific outfit, she'll wear it until she's over it - which could be a week or it could be a year," Ashley said of her sister's style.

Mary-Kate added about Ashley, "There's always sort of a sense of a bohemian vibe. She's quirky, modern, bohemian."

Sarah Jessica Parker Splits From Halston

Sarah Jessica Parker on VogueApparently Kim Cattrall isn't the only one who doesn't play well with Sarah Jessica ParkerCarrie Bradshaw Parker and Halston have reportedly ended their working relationship.

The Sex and the City actress was the president of the iconic label until recently and although no formal announcement has been made by either party, the split was alluded to in a recent interview the star completed with Vogue: "When Sex and the City, to her own surprise, made her a fashion star, she launched her own design label and perfumes, as well assigning on to run the Halston Heritage label, a relationship that recently came to an end," the article read.

Last November it was revealed Sarah Jessica was not pleased the CEO of Halston Bonnie Takhar had been forced to step down. "Sarah has been a strong supporter of Bonnie for a very long time, and has been the sole voice supporting her against the board and shareholders. She has been fighting this for a very long time. She believed in Bonnie. She was emotional and upset because this finally came to a head," a source said.

Crystal Renn Lands Her First Vogue Cover

Crystal Renn on Vogue MexicoThe year 2011 has thus far been a promising one for Crystal Renn, who landed her first Vogue cover for Vogue Mexico's April issue.

Photographed by David Roemer and styled by Sarah Gore-Reeves, Renn brings out the fun, excitement of fashion with her poses and lights up the magazine's pages while also welcoming spring with bold, bright lips, eyeshadow, nails, and clothes.

Admittedly, the coveted Vogue cover gig was long overdue for Renn, who has previously starred in several Vogue editorials, including a food-centric one shot by Terry Richardson under the former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld.

Turned away from a Vogue Italia cover for not being able to fit into the dress the magazine desired, Renn now has been vindicated with a cover that has received an overwhelming amount of praise, prompting many to believe she may appear on the American edition soon.

Kim Kardashian Upset Over Nude W Photos

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, News,

Reality star and occasional model Kim Kardashian has blasted W Magazine on her show for a nude shoot she did back in October for their November Art issue.

Despite having previously posed nude in Playboy and Harper's Bazaar, Kim was extremely upset over what she claims was misrepresented when pitched to her:

"Oh my God, I'm more naked that I was in Playboy. I'm so mad right now. [The magazine] promised I would be covered with artwork -- you can see the nipples! The whole concept was sold to me that nothing would be seen. I feel so taken advantage of … I've definitely learned my lesson. I'm never taking my clothes off again, even if it's for Vogue."

What never compelled her to confirm that minor stipulation with the magazine is beyond me. Considering the lengths she seems to go to grab headlines, I can't seem to buy her story. Moreover, I think that it's laughable that she'd think there's a possibility in Anna Wintour's this reality that Vogue would ever ask her to be in their magazine.

W, of course, was quick to respond:
