Viktor and Rolf Designed Gaga Prison Wear

Lady Gaga in Viktor and RolfFashionable pop singer asked to look like a prisoner in her latest music video.

The eccentric singer teamed up with designers Viktor and Rolf for “Telephone” - her duet with - as she wanted them to create her a bespoke costume, which was inspired by spending time behind bars. As a result, in some scenes in the video Gaga wears a dark grey leopard jersey jumpsuit with a studded bodice decorated with metal chains.

“Lady Gaga asked us to design a prisoner’s outfit. This is how we imagined Gaga if she was incarcerated. She inspired us and her bodysuit was included in our brand new ‘glamour factory’ collection. It is styled with a huge pile of exaggerated metal chain necklaces.”

As well as her Viktor and Rolf prison outfit, Gaga and Beyonce also wear designs by outlandish designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac - with Beyonce choosing a blue jacket from the collection and Gaga sporting a bespoke dress.

Photographers Prohibited Allowed at McQueen Memorial

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

Despite what Kanye West said about the late Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection, it appears as if he did complete most of his Fall 2010 line.

Originally set to premiere at Paris Fashion Week, the label has instead opted to showcase McQueen’s last collection in a memorial setting on March 9th and 10th. Very much unlike the live-stream of his collection, photographers will not be permitted at the presentation. Photos of the pieces are (thankfully!) due to be released to the media.

First Look: Louise Goldin For Topshop

Louise Goldin for Topshop

Judging by photos of her first shoe collection for Topshop, Louise Goldin is still very much inspired by the science-fiction fare.

Set to hit boutiques this February and March, Goldin’s killer footwear resemble those that appeared at Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2009.

The thought of pairing these statement-making heels with Spring/Summer 2010 looks makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Imagine them with those gorgeous Lanvin dresses or swapping Alexander Wang’s animal print shoes for these! Will you be sporting these alluring-yet-deadly shoes?

Matthew Williamson to Launch Menswear

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Men,

Matthew Williamson is venturing into menswear.

The British designer, who dresses the likes of actress Sienna Miller and TV presenter Cat Deeley, is heading into the world of men’s clothes following on from a successful collection with high street store .

“I wanted to start a menswear line of slim-fitting, luxury cashmere jumpers in a range of great colors. I know these jumpers will become season-less staples in my own wardrobe. Cashmere and silk printed scarves and hand-beaded T-shirts compliment the line and form a solid foundation for the collection to grow next season.”

The clothes, which will be unveiled for , will be expanded seasonally and will be available at London’s Harrods department store and Matthew Williamson shops.

Matthew previously revealed that his passion for fashion started at an early age: “I wanted to be a designer from the age of about 11. There was never any question in my mind. I just knew. I remember my sister couldn’t decide if she wanted to be a nurse or a teacher, and I was like, ‘How do you not know?’”

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2010

A sneak peek of Lanvin’s ad campaign is out, and it’ll make you want to get up and dance in heels at the office.

Shot by Steven Meisel, the ads feature model Jamie Bochert (whom you may recall from the Rodarte for Target look book). Of the dashing photos, Lanvin artistic director Alber Elbaz said, “I thought maybe we need a bit of action.”

Even though we can’t see much of Jamie’s face, I still gather that people will want to covet the gorgeous dresses thanks to these beautiful ads.

Lookbook: Victoria Beckham Relaunches Denim Line

Victoria Beckham Denim

Our favorite Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is set to relaunch her denim line, dVb (now simply Victoria Beckham Denim), for Spring/Summer ‘10 and we’ve got the lookbook here!

Expected to run about $235 for a pair (more affordable than her dress collection, I’ll say), the range includes an array of cigarette pants, boyfriend jeans, as well as jackets and denim skirts. Judging by the photos, Beckham again offers a simple yet sexy and timeless look—quite possibly Posh Spice meets The Row (minus the latter’s expensive prices)?

Check out the rest of the pictures after the break!

First Look: Derek Lam Spring/Summer ‘10 Campaign

Derek Lam Spring/Summer '10

Model Ginta Lapina seems to be fashion designer Derek Lam’s muse as of late—first was her runway appearance for his Spring/Summer ‘10 collection, then she showed up on his arm to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards last week. Now it would appear as if she’s starring in the ad campaign for the aforementioned range!

“We went back to the beach, but it’s a dreamy world of cream-colored sand, highlighted by pops of color from vibrant clothing and accessories,” Creative Director Doug Lloyd said of the photo shoot.

Shot by Solve Sundsbo at Pier 59 Studio in New York, Lapina looks perfect strewn across the sandy beach in Lam’s fun polka dot print; her updo and make-up further accent the modern take on the 60’s-esque line. If only we, too, could be staring into the dreamy eyes of her onlooker!

Fashion Police: Kristen Stewart Embraces Color

Kristen Stewart wearing Proenza Schouler

Usually a fan of more monochrome fare, Kristen Stewart stepped out at the London premiere of New Moon in the bold Look 20 from Proenza Schouler’s Spring/Summer ‘10 collection.

While I definitely give her the points in effort, I’m not necessarily fancying the outfit on the Twilight starlet - not only does it make her look frumpy, but her Joan Jett hair doesn’t bode well with the ensemble.

(Be sure to check out other questionable fashion finds.)

Madonna Stars in Dolce & Gabbana Campaign

Jesus Luz, Stefano Gabbana, Domenico Dolce, and MadonnaThe Queen of Pop has seemed to move on from Marc Jacobs and has now moved on to cozying up with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, starring in their upcoming Spring/Summer ‘10 ad campaign.

While the Dolce & Gabbana pair have worked with Madonna in the past for her stage costumes, she has never taken to glossy pages for them until now. It probably helps that her current boy toy, model Jesus Luz, starred in the previous ad campaign for their fall line (he probably wants to remain employed).

“To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true,” the designing duo said.

Shot last week in New York City by celebrated photographer Steven Klein, I’m fairly excited for the photos; however, I’m hoping that we’ll be able to recognize her face this time around (as opposed to her controversial Louis Vuitton ads that were highly edited).

Karl Lagerfeld and Claudia Schiffer on set

Shooting on location in Buenos Aires, Karl Lagerfeld and Claudia Schiffer were snapped up by photogs as they shot the Chanel Spring/Summer ‘10 ad campaign.

Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi, also set to appear in the photo shoot, were nowhere in sight (sometimes it can’t quite be helped when Karl Lagerfeld and Claudia Schiffer are walking about).
