Jessica Simpson Shows Off Weight Loss in Her Spring 2014 Ads

Jessica Simpson's Spring/Summer 2014 CollectionNo one is apparently looking more forward to swimsuit season than Jessica Simpson, who flaunts her dramatic post-baby body in a series of photos for her eponymous line's upcoming collection.

Photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth, the mother of two models a curve-hugging white swimsuit (seen to the right and after the jump) in a couple photos and some floral frocks in others (seen after the jump). "This swimsuit is feminine and a little retro in its detailing... It's very sexy, but it still leaves something to the imagination. And the shape is incredibly flattering," Simpson said.

Unwerth shot the images at a residence outside of Santa Barbara back in November.

Simpson, 33, explained the inspiration behind her Spring/Summer 2014 line: "This season we brought a feminine take to the current trend toward casual... For instance, pairing a loose-knit sweater or an oversize worn-in denim jacket over a dainty floral print romper, or adding a touch of a pastel rose print to the lapel of a moto jacket. You'll see a lot of floral throughout the line—perfect for spring."

Barneys Ad

Although Barneys was in hot water over racial profiling allegations several months ago, the high-end retailer is making strides in the LGBTQ community with their latest ad campaign, which features trans* models.

The series - shot in black and white by famed photographer Bruce Weber - features 17 models (some professional models, while others are students, activists, and musicians) dressed in designer duds and situated among their family members. Titled “Brothers, Sisters, Sons & Daughters," the images will be accompanied by interviews with the models sharing their personal stories regarding their lives as trans* people. “I hope that my photographs and films of these 17 new friends, who are transgender men and women, convey the respect I have for them and how I stand in awe of their courage to face the world,” Weber said.

Kanye West Angry That Kim Didn’t Score ‘Vogue’ Cover

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Rumors,

Kim Kardashian and Kanye WestKanye West has allegedly confronted Anna Wintour after his fiancee Kim Kardashian was overlooked for the cover of Vogue magazine.

The 36-year-old rapper is reportedly "insulted" that the fashion editor, who he deems a close friend of his, picked filmmaker Lena Dunham over his beau for the cover of February's edition.

A source told RadarOnline that Kanye - who met with Anna at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge - argued that Kim is "just as talented as Lena, if not more so." The source added, "To Kanye it's insulting that his friend Anna is still refusing to even consider putting Kim on the cover of Vogue. He thinks Anna is listening to a bunch of 'know-nothing' corporate haters, as he put it. He's upset that Anna isn't willing to do him this personal favor and put Kim on the cover. Kanye knows that it's always been a huge dream of Kim's to be on the Vogue cover and Kanye wants to make it come true. If nothing else, Kanye is persistent."

Skype Debuts Trailer for Victoria Beckham Doc

Victoria BeckhamCalling all Victoria Beckham worshipers!

Fans of the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer will have the chance to see what went on behind the scenes of her stylish operation during New York Fashion Week Fall 2013. Teaming up with Skype, Victoria had cameras follow her around à la day-in-the-life style for her upcoming documentary, Five Years - The Victoria Beckham Fashion Story.

Although it's not quite a rags-to-riches story (she was Posh Spice, after all), the 39-year-old indicates in the trailer (seen after the jump!) that her pop star-to-fashion designer journey was not an easy one: "I always dreamed of designing a collection; it was always my passion. I was a Spice Girl married to a footballer. I was trying to do something that no one had really done before."

There's no word yet as to when the complete documentary will be released, but Skype claims that it's "coming soon."

Daria Werbowy Returns to Modeling on Her Own Terms

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, News,

Daria WerbowyWith the horrid working conditions in the modeling world that still go unregulated, it's no wonder that models like Daria Werbowy decided to go on a hiatus. After taking time off to herself, the Canadian-bred beauty is returning to the industry.

"I took a risk a couple of years ago where I decided to do the minimal amount that I could get away with, because I physically and mentally couldn’t handle it anymore," she told this month's Harper's Bazaar, of which she is on the cover. "It's like, you have everything you want, what you dreamt of is coming true, you can’t buy anything else to make you happy, so then you think, Well, what else is there? And you have to leave."

The 30-year-old, who has been modeling since the age of 14, traveled the world on her time off and finally settled in Cork, Ireland, where she currently lives with her boyfriend. While she was coy when asked about him, Werbowy did admit, "Never in a million years did I think I’d be living there, but I never thought I'd be a successful model either. I never thought I'd fall in love with who I’m in love with."

The Gap, Zara Temporarily Ban Rabbit Fur

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: News, Sales,

ZaraDue to the efforts of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and a number of customers who expressed their presence online, retailers The Gap and Zara have released statements temporarily banning the sale of products made from angora rabbit fur.

PETA recently released undercover footage of the horrifying conditions and treatment of angora rabbits in a Chinese angora fur farm, prompting many companies to halt sales of the fur. The Gap and Zara were not as quick to jump on the compassionate bandwagon, facing harsh criticism online, as well as a petition which garnered over 295,000 signatures.

As a result, Zara released a statement on December 18th, claiming that they will stop ordering angora fur until it can verify the farms from which they purchase (let's be honest - they're not going to find a farm removing the fur humanely at the price points that they're used to). The Gap posted on Twitter with a similar sentiment.

How about they invest in cruelty-free faux fur instead of wasting time and money with their own investigations?

Cameron Diaz Promotes Health, Body Diversity in New Book

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Videos,

Cameron Diaz with 'The Body Book'In a sea of advertisements where underage models are constantly used and already-thin celebrities are edited until their unrecognizeable, model-turned-actress Cameron Diaz has come to change things with her new book, The Body Book.

A short behind-the-scenes video of Diaz photographing women (of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities!) for her book has been released (seen after the jump) in which the Counselor star promotes overall health and loving one's body instead of weight loss.

The 41-year-old has also been promoting going makeup free, as she even appeared in a photo holding a copy of The Body Book with what seems to be a completely fresh face!

Hopefully more celebrities take notice and jump onto Diaz's body-positive bandwagon.

Items Du Jour: Britney Goes Platinum, Tyra’s War on “Plus-Size” Term

Kim Kardashian+ The Kardashian trio unveiled their latest clothing collection, which they launched in collaboration with British retailer Lipsy. Unsurprisingly, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe model off their floral, curve-hugging dresses in the adverts for the line (perhaps it's the only way they'd be able to sell it?). Major kudos that they're not of the typical sequined and glittery New Year's Eve dress fare, but at the same time, I can't imagine women flocking to the stores (or in Americans' cases, online store) for a summery frock when they're looking for something festive.

+ Britney Spears surprised fans with a Twitter photo showcasing her new hair color: platinum blonde. Love it or leave it?

+ Tyra Banks seems to have joined Jennifer Lawrence in the war against negative body image words, claiming that she refuses to utter "plus-size," instead opting for "fiercely real." Not sure how quickly the latter will catch on, but it's a start!

Kanye West Calls for Boycott on Louis Vuitton

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

Kanye WestKanye West is trying to get New York City to boycott Louis Vuitton.

The "Bound 2" rapper is disgruntled with the French fashion house's head, Yves Carcelle, after he refused to meet him when he was in Paris, and he is planning to teach him a lesson by publicly telling the people of New York City to stop buying his company's products.

"I wanted to meet with [Yves] in Paris. He said 'I don't understand why we need to meet with you?' I said, let me explain to you why you need to meet with me - or [to] the head of Gucci - let me explain why you need to meet with me. Everybody in New York City right now, don't buy any Louis Vuitton until after January. Now do you want to meet with me? Now do you want to meet with me? Influence. They think that I don't realize my power," he said, speaking on New York's 92.3 NOW radio station.

Whether the people of New York heed Kanye's demands is yet to be seen.
