Items Du Jour: SJP Spills SATC2 Gossip, Givenchy Hires a Transgender Model

Emily and Agyness Deyn for Uniqlo- Despite the fact that her face has graced plenty of magazine covers and campaign advertisements, Scarlett Johansson reveals in her V Magazine interview that she goes into hair and makeup “like this perfectly prepared sausage.” Does she really think that we’re going to buy that bologna?

- It was only a matter of time after seeing Lady Gaga sport those McQueen lobster claw platforms that we knew she was destined to don the heel-less Nina Ricci creations. Voila! The chic songstress was spotted wearing them at the Museum of Modern Art. That lady sure nows how to pick her shoes accordingly.

- Model Agyness Deyn joins forces with her sister Emily for a T-shirt line in collaboration with Uniqlo’s UT Project. Catch the designs quickly—the line is oh-so-surprisingly a limited-edition.

- Fashionista Vanessa Traina is rumored to have been snapped up in Paris by photographer Benoit Peverelli for Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2010 campaign.

- So we knew that the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte always called themselves losers, but we never honestly knew how interesting they really are… until now. Kate recently revealed that her first knitting project was for a girl’s pet lizard. I don’t know about you, but that seems like it’s got to take a lot of talent—a lizard?

Impatient Exerciser Helena Christensen

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, News, Sales,

Helena Christensen for ReebokSupermodel is “impatient” when it comes to exercise.

The supermodel is the face of Reebok’s new EasyTone trainers - which promise to tone a wearer’s legs and behind as they walk - and says they are perfect for her because they show results almost immediately.

“With my busy schedule it’s a perfect way to do something without spending hours in the gym. I’m impatient, when I try something I like to see results immediately. I could feel these working right away which is why I’ve stuck with them.”

The 41-year-old beauty uses the trainers when she walks around New York and can feel a difference at the end of the day: “Living in New York, I like to walk everywhere, so to have trainers that tone your legs and butt as you walk is fantastic,” she explained. “You can really feel them working and I’ve noticed a difference in just a few weeks. They are comfortable to walk in, it almost feels like you are walking on sand, but by the end of the day you can feel it in your legs almost like you have done a workout.”

Items Du Jour: Jimmy Choo Makes Sneakers, Christina Gets Sexier, and Posh Poses With a Duck

Kristen Stewart lands Flaunt Cover- Victoria Beckham scores an interesting editorial in German Vogue, where she looks flawless (as usual) against trashy back drops and a playground duck. Yes, a duck.

- Ever wonder what happened to Christina Aguilera? She says that she’s more comfortable in her skin, now that she’s become a mom. She even says that she’s more sexual. How is that even possible after creating a music video like “Dirrty”?

- Kristen Stewart lands the cover for the current issue of Flaunt magazine, and holy smokes is she hot! She’s everywhere and I love it!

- Fashion designer Mark Fast seems to have made quite the impression with his peers—Calvin Klein is reportedly going to discontinue the use of size 0 models. It also could be the allure of Lara Stone; Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa is rumored to have picked her to front several of the campaigns.

- Jimmy Choo is set to release a line of sneakers next month, but early previews of the shoes aren’t impressing anyone. Starting price is at $600!

Turtles Inspire Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen's Ipanema ad‘s sandal collection is inspired by marine life.

The supermodel, who endorses the footwear made by Ipanema, is donating profits from her new range to the Tamar Project, an organization which studies and protects sea turtles, after becoming fascinated by the endangered creatures:

“It all began when I was at my home in Costa Rica. I saw the turtles were dying. These animals are essential to marine life. They’re part of the ecosystem. That’s why we started looking for a project that supported the continued existence of the species. We hit on the Tamar project. The entire new Gisele Bundchen Ipanema collection is based on marine life.”

Despite admitting she is not a designer, the Brazilian beauty insists she is heavily involved in the creative process for coming up with the footwear. She added to Hello! magazine, “I do as much as I can. It’s a collaboration. I’m not a designer, but I throw myself into everything else. I come up with ideas, I meet the designers, I tell them what I want and once everything comes together, I give the final approval. The shoes have sentimental value because they reflect the things that matter to me.”

Gisele Bundchen Does Not Design Clothes

Gisele Bundchen with her Ipamema flip-flopsUnlike most supermodels and celebrities these days, Gisele Bundchen could never be a fashion designer.

The world’s highest-paid model, who gave birth to her first child in December, admits she wouldn’t have the skills or the patience to create clothes and accessories full-time, but did enjoy working on her flip-flop collection, Ipamema, with Brazil’s largest shoe company Grendene.

Speaking at the launch in Paris, Gisele said, “I am very inspired by nature and like to use that for my ideas, but actually designing them - no way. I would be a disaster.”

The Brazilian beauty says she is more focused on her creations being environmentally-friendly rather than how much she helped design them. She told WWD, “Nature is very close to my heart, and it is important for me that people who buy my flip-flops are made aware of the environment.”

Despite being one of the world’s most successful supermodels, Gisele recently admitted she was initially terrified when she entered the fashion industry so invented a second persona:

Lady Gaga Fan Henry Holland

Henry Holland and Agyness DeynHenry Holland wants to dress . The British designer is a huge fan of the eccentric “Bad Romance” singer’s sense of style and would love to work with her - but only if she agreed with his ideas.

“I’d love to dress Gaga but I’d be too terrified to tell her what to wear.It would have to be a collaborative process.”

The designer’s close friend, model Agyness Deyn, also confessed to being a big fan of Gaga and her quirky fashion ideas after seeing her promoting a new MAC lipstick. Agyness told Now, “I was inspired.”

Henry and Gaga should get along fine if the designer creates an outfit with lots of accessories - including high-heeled shoes. The singer said recently, “I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels. I’d never give up my wigs and hats for anything. You see legendary people taking out their trash, I think it’s destroying showbusiness.”

Madonna May Design Line for Macy’s

Madonna

Could we soon see in a commercial with Martha Stewart and Jessica Simpson?

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the singer may become the latest celebrity connected to a product line sold at Macy’s. The 51-year-old is reportedly nearing a deal that would have her name linked to contemporary women’s collection.

Potential items sold would include accessories, clothing, intimates and shoes. Brand names in contention for the new lines include “Material Girl” (that seems too easy a choice to me) and “Truth or Dare” (for the lingerie department).

Three years ago, Madonna also launched “M by Madonna,” which sold in H&M stores.

Louise Goldin for Topshop

Judging by photos of her first shoe collection for Topshop, Louise Goldin is still very much inspired by the science-fiction fare.

Set to hit boutiques this February and March, Goldin’s killer footwear resemble those that appeared at Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2009.

The thought of pairing these statement-making heels with Spring/Summer 2010 looks makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Imagine them with those gorgeous Lanvin dresses or swapping Alexander Wang’s animal print shoes for these! Will you be sporting these alluring-yet-deadly shoes?

Quote of the Day: Christian Louboutin on His Slutty Customers

Christian Louboutin

“There’s the sexy side, and then there is the Parisian side, which is complementary but also the opposite. If you are very chic you might not need an extra drop of chicness, so you go for the sexy side and buy my shoes because they are… tarty. We get very smart women coming in and buying a pair to feel a little more sluttish. And then, thank God, we also get the hookers coming in the store, who buy my shoes because they are superchic. You see, whatever you have, if you add a drop of the opposite, then it just becomes a little more sexy.”
