Victoria’s Secret Model Jessica Hart: Taylor Swift Didn’t Fit In

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Shows, Models,

Taylor Swift and Lily AldridgeTaylor Swift "didn't fit in" on the Victoria's Secret catwalk, according to model Jessica Hart.

The 23-year-old singer performed at the annual fashion show in New York on Wednesday, but Australian lingerie model Jessica wasn't impressed by her on the runway. When asked if the leggy "I Knew You Were Trouble" star could pull it off as a Victoria's Secret model, Jessica replied bluntly, "No." Speaking to Women's Wear Daily at the after show party, she said, "I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she's great. But I don't know, to me, she didn't fit. I don't know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we've been working for 14, 15 years, what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It's definitely the benchmark of all jobs."

Quote of the Day: Jennifer Lawrence on ‘The Fashion Police’

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, News,

Jennifer Lawrence

"There are shows like The Fashion Police that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat. 'They call it 'fun' and they say 'welcome to the real world' - and that shouldn't be the real world, it's going to continue being the real world if we keep it that way. We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat."

- Jennifer Lawrence takes a stand against body shaming in the media. Don't you just love every word that comes out of this woman's mouth?

Quote of the Day: Model Robyn Lawley on Thigh Gaps

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Health & Beauty, Models,

Robin Lawley

"The truth is I couldn’t care less about needing a supposed 'thigh gap.' It’s just another tool of manipulation that other people are trying to use to keep me from loving my body. Why would I want to starve and weaken my natural body size? I’m not saying women who have it naturally are unattractive. But I would have to change my entire frame just to achieve something that seems so trivial. I’ve been trying to do just the opposite: I want my thighs to be bigger and stronger. I want to run faster and swim longer. I suppose we all just want different things, but women have enough pressure as it is without the added burden of achieving a 'thigh gap.' The last thing I would want for my future daughter would be to starve herself because she thought a 'thigh gap' was necessary to be deemed attractive."

- Model Robin Lawley responds to the outcry over her lack of thigh gap in a photo of herself (seen above) she posted on Facebook.

Quote of the Day: Lady Gaga on Beauty and Her Outrageous Costumes

Lady Gaga on next month's 'Glamour'

"Being beautiful is not so fun when you’re in a business with all men. Because it can actually get in the way. So in some ways, the outfits—these creations are because I don’t want to face the reality of what people want from a female pop star. Everybody always laughs because I feel so much more comfortable with, like, a giant paper bag on my whole body and paint on my face. Sometimes I try really hard to take it all off. But inevitably what’s underneath is still not a straight edge. And I don’t think it ever will be."

- Lady Gaga on being a beautiful pop star and why she wears her over-the-top looks.

Russell Brand Slams Hugo Boss as Nazis

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

Russell BrandRussell Brand hit out at the GQ Awards sponsors Hugo Boss claiming the company's founder was a "Nazi."

The 38-year-old star picked up the Oracle of the Year award at the ceremony at the Royal Opera House in central London Tuesday night, but he referred to the history of sponsors Hugo Boss - who formally apologized in 2011 for their maltreatment of 140 Polish and 40 French workers - and they founder, who became a member of the National Socialist Party in Germany in 1931 and supplied uniforms to the Sturmabteilung, Schutzstaffel, Hitler Youth, National Socialist Motor Corps, and other party organisations

Russell also made light of his accolade and made a jibe at his friend Noel Gallagher, who was sharing a table with him: "Oracle? That's got to be a made up award so I would turn up. It was also a great source of news when I was growing up, alongside Teletext. I would like to thank that pixelated news source and say to Noel, good luck being more offensive than that son!"

Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss for Calvin Klein

"The underwear modeling I did for Calvin Klein with Kate Moss was not good in retrospect, but at the time it got me a lot of attention from the ladies! Explaining that – along with the rap career – to my kids is going to be embarrassing when they are old enough to ask."

Karl Lagerfeld Wants to Marry His Cat

Karl LagerfeldKarl Lagerfeld wants to marry his cat.

The eccentric designer is so besotted with his feline friend, Choupette, he pays for two maids to provide care for her around the clock in Paris. The Chanel designer also has an iPad for his 22-month-old white Siamese pet - who also has her own Twitter account - and lets her dine at his table.

Karl, 79, said in an interview with CNN he is disappointed there is "no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals. I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat."

Choupette - the French equivalent of the English name Herbie - has already gained over 1,200 likes for her own page on Facebook, which features pictures including her eating a king prawn cake prepared for her first birthday last year. Choupette is brushed twice a day by her two nannies, as well as being given regular manicures. Her nannies also write down what she does throughout the day so Karl can catch up with it when he gets home.

Karl Lagerfeld: “Adele Was a Little Roundish”

Karl Lagerfeld and AdeleKarl Lagerfeld has defended his comments about Adele's weight.

The Chanel creative director - who has claimed his remarks calling the singer "a little too fat" were taken out of context - insists that although Adele is a "beautiful girl," she needed to lose weight because she was "a little roundish."

"I never said that she was fat, I said that she was a little roundish. A little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilo [17.6 pounds], so I think the message was not that bad," he said, speaking on CNN's Fashion: Backstage Pass.

Following Karl's comments last year, Adele, 25, insisted she had never aspired to be stick-thin. "I'd lose weight if I was an actress and had to play a role where you're supposed to be 40 pounds lighter, but weight has nothing to do with my career. Even when I was signing [a contract], most of the industry knew if anyone ever dared say [lose weight] to me, they wouldn't be working with me," she said.
