While Marc Jacobs might have received some flak for hiring Miley Cyrus for its Spring 2014 ad campaign, the label will surely win those fans back (and then some!) with the announcement of their decision to hire Jessica Lange as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty.
The brand offered up a preview - shot by David Sims - in which Lange naturally pulls off the sultry-but-fierce look beneath some very noir-ish shadows. Even Jeurgen Teller couldn't resist photographing that face!

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Models, News, Sales,
Although Barneys was in hot water over racial profiling allegations several months ago, the high-end retailer is making strides in the LGBTQ community with their latest ad campaign, which features trans* models.
The series - shot in black and white by famed photographer Bruce Weber - features 17 models (some professional models, while others are students, activists, and musicians) dressed in designer duds and situated among their family members. Titled “Brothers, Sisters, Sons & Daughters," the images will be accompanied by interviews with the models sharing their personal stories regarding their lives as trans* people. “I hope that my photographs and films of these 17 new friends, who are transgender men and women, convey the respect I have for them and how I stand in awe of their courage to face the world,” Weber said.

Cameron Diaz Promotes Health, Body Diversity in New Book
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Videos,
In a sea of advertisements where underage models are constantly used and already-thin celebrities are edited until their unrecognizeable, model-turned-actress Cameron Diaz has come to change things with her new book, The Body Book.
A short behind-the-scenes video of Diaz photographing women (of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities!) for her book has been released (seen after the jump) in which the Counselor star promotes overall health and loving one's body instead of weight loss.
The 41-year-old has also been promoting going makeup free, as she even appeared in a photo holding a copy of The Body Book with what seems to be a completely fresh face!
Hopefully more celebrities take notice and jump onto Diaz's body-positive bandwagon.

Photographer Bruce Weber Praises Kim Kardashian
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities,
Kim Kardashian was more professional on set than real models, according to photographer Bruce Weber.
The famed lensman insists the Keeping up with the Kardashians star was "wonderful" to work with and he chose to shoot her for the March cover issue of high fashion magazine DuJour because of her warm persona around staff on set.
Weber - who has snapped such icons as Cindy Crawford and the late Elizabeth Taylor - revealed that Kim is more favorable to work with than many other models and celebrities he has shot: "At first I wanted to photograph her mom, Kris Jenner. She [Kim] came to the set. I always judge the person I'm going to photograph by how they are with my assistants and my crew - she looked at each one and introduced herself. She was just so personable with everyone. She was wonderful."

Lady Gaga has shaved her head as a tribute to her friend's late mother.
The "Born This Way" singer unveiled her dramatic new hairdo on Twitter last night, explaining it was to honor her close friend Terry Richardson's mum Annie Lomax, who passed away yesterday aged 74. The eccentric pop star posted a photograph of the back of her head on the social network, revealing a large shaved section at the bottom, along with a caption which references her new track "Princess D.I.E," a tribute to the late Princess Diana. + "Born to Die" singer Lana Del Rey covers British GQ in nothing more than jewelry. Dubbed Woman of the Year by the men's magazine, her editorial on the inside of the glossy is apparently just as risque.
+ David Sims photographed Gisele Bundchen for the latest ESPRIT campaign, which features Mrs. Brady in a cool, tailored suit coupled with tousled sex hair (because that's totally how everyone wears their locks to work).
+ Singer of the infectious "Call Me Maybe" hit, Carly Rae Jepsen, is expanding her empire by modeling for Wet Seal. To celebrate the union, the clothing store is giving shoppers a chance to win a shopping spree with Jepsen, as well as tickets to see her and Justin Bieber in concert.
+ Katie Holmes opens up to WWD about her fashion career, in which she claims that she's not afraid to fail (although anyone with a hefty divorce settlement from Tom Cruise would also probably not be too afraid to waste money).

Muhammad Ali is the new face of Louis Vuitton's latest Core Values campaign.
The boxing legend appears alongside his grandson at his Arizona home in the campaign, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz and will appear in the international press starting Friday.
"Muhammad Ali is the epitome of an outstanding personality - a true living legend in boxing and far beyond. We are honored that he agreed to be photographed for the Core Values campaign, and delighted with the way this beautiful portrait of the champion and his grandson captures the idea of transmission, which is of great significance to Louis Vuitton," said Louis Vuitton CEO and chairman Yves Carcelle.
"Some stars show you the way. Muhammad Ali and a rising star. Phoenix, Arizona," reads the campaign's tagline.
Lily Cole: Physical Perfection Doesn’t Exist
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models,
Lily Cole doesn't believe in physical perfection. The supermodel and actress admits she has put herself until pressure to maintain a certain look in the past but says as she has gotten older, she realizes that no one is perfect.
Speaking in a new film created for the New Thinker's Index, Lily, 23, said, "I don't believe in perfection, I don't believe it exists and I don't believe it's necessary. I've put myself under a lot of pressure in the past, too skinny or too fat. It can be quite a destructive way to live life. A lot of advertising can make people think you're not enough as you are, you're not enough until you have that or look like that."
Although Lily sometimes got annoyed with photographers demanding constant alterations while shooting her, she admitted Irving Penn, who died in 2009, knew exactly what he was doing.
"In terms of fashion Irving Penn kept making me make such tiny alterations when I posed for him, I remember thinking it seemed silly, it was so particular but after seeing the contact sheet I realized the last two shots had nailed it."
Claudia Schiffer Updates Iconic Guess Shot
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Models,
Claudia Schiffer stars in an update of her iconic 1989 Guess shot to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary.
The photo of the supermodel - wearing nothing but a bustier, gold hoop earrings and with her blonde locks blowing across her face - boosted the brand enormously and her new shoot saw her reunited with its photographer, Ellen von Unwerth.
"She was a turning point of Guess, she was a turning point of Ellen's career, Guess was a turning point of a life for Claudia," said Paul Marciano, chief executive officer and creative director of Guess.
Although the shot didn't feature a pair of the denim jeans the company is most famous for, Paul added that it "made her career in my view, and that made Guess a different company. Everybody talked about the Guess Girl."
Claudia featured in six campaigns for the company from 1989 to 1991, and is still very fond of the brand.
