Katy Perry, Akon to Perform at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Akong and Katy Perry will perform at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The “Teenage Dream” singer and the rapper will provide the musical entertainment at the annual event for the lingerie giants, which will feature a host of Victoria’s Secret Angels including Alessandra Ambrosio, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman, Erin Heatherton and Lily Aldridge.
Adriana Lima has been chosen to model this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra - decorated with a starburst design and featuring 2,000 diamonds - valued at $3 million.
Although a host of beauties will be there, it was revealed last month that Heidi Klum would no longer be working with the fashion brand. The supermodel had been with the company for 13 years but announced she was hanging up her angel wings and would not be strutting down the runway in the annual November show.
This year’s show will take place in New York on November 30th and the live broadcast will include red carpet interviews, model profiles and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the fashion show.

Roberto Cavalli Designs Shakira’s World Cup Dress

Roberto Cavalli is to dress Shakira for the closing ceremony of the 2010 soccer World Cup.
The Italian fashion designer - who previously worked with the Spice Girls on their 2007/08 world tour - will dress the “She Wolf” singer for the third time during the event’s festivities, as she has already worn two of his creations to perform at the opening ceremony in South Africa.
The outfit for the closing performance features a silk-fringed skirt covered in pink flowers and ethnic prints, while a separate top is embroidered with multi-colored pearls. Accessories will include leather bracelets ornately decorated with floral silk.
Shakira will perform her song “Waka Waka” at the event, as she did at the opening ceremony. The Columbian-born singer recently spoke of her excitement at performing at the World Cup: “I am honored that ‘Waka Waka’ was chosen to be part of the excitement and the legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The soccer World Cup is a miracle of global excitement, connecting every country, race, religion and condition around a single passion.”

The “Rude Boy” songstress brought her Last Girl on Earth tour to Vancouver, where she showed off her latest zany costume. It’s one thing to love avant-garde, couture fashion and a completely other thing to try to pull off a watered-down version of it. Sorry, Rihanna, but not everyone can be Lady Gaga.

Beyonce Wants Posh Designs

An R&B artist desires some girl power: Beyonce wants Victoria Beckham to design her tour outfits.
The sexy singer is a huge admirer of the former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer’s collections and is keen for her to create some stunning outfits for her next series of concerts.
“Beyonce is a big fan of Victoria’s work, and was given a couple of samples from the new collection. Victoria was hugely flattered and has agreed, in principle, to suggest some designs. While Beyonce already has the sunglasses and a few dresses, it is Victoria’s more elegant full-length designs that she particularly loves as they are a real departure from her usual glitzy stage costumes. This collaboration could be the start of something big.”
Victoria’s designs have become a huge hit with celebrities with Demi Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and Heidi Klum all donning some of her creations. Demi wore a strapless, floor-length royal blue dress from Victoria’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection at the pre-Oscars Hollywood Domino party and couldn’t help but gush about Victoria’s handiwork: “I always feel so comfortable and Victoria’s designs fit so well. They’re just stylish through and through.”
Madonna Exercises For Skimpy Stage Costumes

Madonna insists working out is part of her job.
The 51-year-old singer - who has previously faced criticism for her overly-toned physique - claims it is important for her to exercise regularly as she has to look as good as she can when wearing her skimpy stage outfits.
“I do it for health reasons, and for aesthetic reasons. If I have to go out on stage and, you know, jump around in a pair of hot pants I better look good and also when I perform I’m like an athlete and I have to be in good shape. I’m not panicked, I just know what my job is and I know that if I want to be able to wear whatever I want to wear on stage then my body better look good.”
It has previously been claimed that Madonna planned to “tone down” her sinewy arms. A source said, “There aren’t many women her age who have a body like that but even Madonna may have to admit this time she might have to tone it down. “She asked her trainer Tracy Anderson what she could do to stop her arms looking so sinewy. Tracy told her to do more stretching exercises to make them look leaner and Madonna has decided to follow her advice.”

Update: It has now been reported that the dress was made of latex, not leather.
When Lady Gaga talked to Jay Leno a few weeks ago, she showed no fear regarding what she would wear when performing for the Queen of England. Judging by the images from the event, the pop star certainly did not hold back from her usual, zany fare.
Dressed in an Elizabethan-inspired
latex number, Gaga took the stage—along with her 20 ft. train—atop a suspended piano for a scene (image after the jump) that could pass off as being pulled from a Tim Burton film.
