FIRST LOOK: Nicole Kidman Strips Down for Jimmy Choo

The Hours actress Nicole Kidman has bared it all for shoe designer Jimmy Choo in the company's latest ad campaign, proving that she's still looking fierce in her 40's. Despite her amazing figure, it was apparently the mother of three's acting resume that inspired creative director Sandra Choi to hire her to sell their shoes.

"I love Nicole Kidman's openness to embracing a new character and each season she transforms into a new personality that embodies the spirit of the collection... Her poses are striking yet unexpected and her natural beauty is mesmerizing. She exudes feminine confidence and there's a palpable sense of energy to the pictures," Choi said in a statement..

Kidman - who is married to country singer and American Idol judge Keith Urban - is pictured in one photo (to the right) wearing nothing but a purse and stockings while donning a blazer that barely covers her chest matched with barely-there panties in another (seen after the jump).

Jimmy Choo New Style Initiative to Launch Today

Street fashion featuring Jimmy ChooJimmy Choo's new website launches today.

The acclaimed footwear brand's highly-anticipated new project, Stylemakers - an interactive site featuring a photo gallers of street style images - is set to go live. Members of the public are invited to upload a picture of themselves wearing a Jimmy Choo creation - shoes or bag - and share the image at www.choo247.com.

The website is categorized according to location - with sections including London, England, New York, America, Shanghai, China and Sao Paolo in Brazil - and each city has a different ambassador. In London, Caroline Issa is the label's muse for the project. The website has launched to coincide with the brand's new Choo 24:7 collection, which aims to provide the perfect footwear wardrobe for every shoe need.

Stylemakers is the latest new venture for Jimmy Choo.


Jimmy Choo to Work with Rob Pruitt on New Collection

Rob PruittJimmy Choo is to collaborate with Rob Pruitt on a new Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

The fashion house will join forces with the contemporary artist - who is known for his array of colorful work - on a capsule cruise collection, and the brand is hoping his influence will lead to the creation of some "very collectable and uniquely beautiful" products.

"We were captivated by Pruitt's energy, his computer screen use of color and the festive exuberance of his prints and materials; there were elements in his work that reminded us in subtle ways of the Jimmy Choo design iconography. We sensed that Rob's twist on Jimmy Choo glamour would yield something very collectable and uniquely beautiful," said Jimmy Choo creative directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway.

The collection will feature shoes, small leather accessories and handbags, and it is expected to arrive in Jimmy Choo boutiques and online in November 2012.


Joshua Schulman Leaves Jimmy Choo for Bergdorf Goodman

Joshua SchulmanJoshua Schulman has become president of Bergdorf Goodman. The former head of Jimmy Choo and the Gucci Group admits he is delighted at his new job because he has "always" appreciated the work of the world famous New York department store and its parent company Neiman Marcus.

"I've been a vendor of Bergdorf Goodman and a vendor of the Neiman Marcus Group in my career over the last 20 years. I've always had an enormous appreciation for the culture of Bergdorf Goodman and the Neiman Marcus Group and for their focus on excellence in luxury retail," he told WWD.

Jim Gold, president of speciality retail for the Neiman Marcus Group, added his two decades of experience would bring a new wave of "knowledge" into the sector: "Josh has been around the luxury business for 20 years and although he has been on the wholesale side, he has worked with department stores his whole career and gained an intimate knowledge of what it takes for a large store to work."

Tamara Mellon Quits Jimmy Choo

Tamara MellonTamara Mellon has quit Jimmy Choo. The entrepreneur - who founded the footwear and accessories brand in 1996 along with former cobbler Jimmy Choo - has stepped down as Chief Creative Officer of the company following its takeover and integration with private Italian luxury goods group Labelux.

The 44-year-old - who ceased to have any financial interest in the group after its $800 million acquisition in May - is set to be followed out of the company by current Chief Executive Joshua Schulman, who will complete a transition phase into 2012.

"Jimmy Choo is an outstanding brand with enormous growth potential and the ability to deliver material growth synergies across our group. With a successful transition behind them, we respect their wish to move on to other challenges," said Labelux's chief executive Reinhard Mieck.

Since Tamara and Jimmy set up the business, it has grown from being a small company to a global brand, which sells handbags, scarves and fragrances, among other luxury items. Earlier this year, Tamara - who was awarded an OBE in 2010 for her services to Britain's fashion industry - explained she is "extremely proud" of the company's heritage and put the success of the group down to its constant flow of "innovation and energy":

Crystal Renn Fronts Jimmy Choo

While 2010 was a great year for Crystal Renn, 2011 is already looking extremely promising for her, considering her new gig as the face of Jimmy Choo.

Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Renn is absolutely beautiful -- despite the fact that she's set against backdrops that resemble American Apparel two-toned stockings. The plus-size model seems to have shed weight, but looks like she's down to a normal, healthy size (or could this be more handy work from a thinspired individual?).

While perfume sales may not be up there for some celebs, fashion designers like Marc Jacobs and Dolce & Gabbana seem to fare better. Not surprisingly, Jimmy Choo has released its own fragrance, with its co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Tamara Mellon, taking over modeling duties.

"We've transitioned into a lifestyle luxury brand, and it seemed like the next natural step for us... Fragrance is such an important accessory for women -- I think it will have a very broad reach. Our customer is every woman," Mellon explained.

Mellon worked closely with fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the campaign (pictured above).

Jimmy Choo to Unveil Perfume

Tamara Mellon is to launch a Jimmy Choo fragrance.

The shoe tycoon is to launch the perfume next year after having signed a 12-year contract with Inter Parfums, the company responsible for the scents of fashion houses Burberry, Lanvin and Paul Smith. Rumors of a fragrance have been circulating within the fashion world for some time, and Mellon has made no secret of the fact that she believes that a perfume is an “integral part of the modern wardrobe.”

“It has always been my vision to fully accessorize the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe. I look forward to bringing this important aspect of my vision to life.”

Elsewhere in the Jimmy Choo empire, the British businesswoman - who currently owns a fifth of the firm - recently dismissed reports she was planning to sell the company, which is believed to be worth $800 million.

The shoo tycoon - who founded the exclusive footwear company in 1996 and now owns a fifth of the firm - has revealed she has no plans to step down from her current role, as there is too much “future growth” left in the business.

“I’m not going anywhere. There is too much future growth in the business for me to leave now. We’re looking at all the different options available to us and it’s hard to know which is preferable until we’ve really examined them all.”

Her comments follow reports she and the other Jimmy Choo shareholders are preparing to appoint financial advisors in a bid to sell the company, which is believed to be worth up to $800 million.

Tamara, who oversees the label’s brand image, recently admitted she uses applications on her iPhone to plan and organize her wardrobe, as it helps her to save time. “One trick I do is I have my closet on my iPhone. I always have so many events coming up so I will take some time and prepare, say, the next 10. The outfits are all photographed and uploaded onto my iPhone, so that when I’m travelling and I’m in the office running late, one of my girls can run over to the hotel and they know - from the download - what to pull out, and it’s ready to go. It’s such a timesaver.”
