Paris - who has an additional 16 product lines - has generated $1.5 billion in sales with her fragrance collection, which is distributed by Parlux, but she admits she never expected it to be so successful: "What started out as just an interesting experiment became a real business very quickly. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez says her first fragrance campaign is "very sensual." The singer-and-actress is wearing a sexy purple dress while she is submerged in water in the ad for the self-titled perfume and she is thrilled with the results.

"The water is actually lit from underneath, so it made it look pink and purple, like the colors of the bottle. I wanted it to look like I was swimming in my fragrance. It's very romantic, very sensual. But it's fun and beautiful at the same time. I don't really understand why I decided to be underwater [in the ad] but it looked cool!" she told People.

Selena Gomez Tries to Dress Age Appropriate

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities,

Selena GomezSelena Gomez always tries to dress "age appropriate." The singer-actress is aware that she has a number of young fans and says she tries to wear clothes that they could also don.

"Obviously sometimes I'm going to dress for me. I wouldn't specifically want younger kids wearing a gown or a top that I wear. But most of the time I do wear things that are appropriate for everybody," she told People.

Along with having her own clothing, Selena, 19, is preparing to release her debut fragrance this year and she is hoping it is the first of many: "I'm so excited about my new fragrance which will be coming out soon. I think we're just going to name it after me for the first one because I think it would be simple to just do that for right now but I'm hoping this is the first in a line of perfumes, we'll see. It's going to be something different too because my fans are going to help me choose it so it'll be very fan involved. I've had some great suggestions from my fans already, they've been choosing some really good fragrances so it's very exciting."

Nicki MinajNicki Minaj will release her debut fragrance later this year.

The "Turn Me On" singer has signed a fragrance licensing deal with Give Back Brands LLC to produce and launch her first scent, due in department stores this fall.

"I have always been a huge fan of great fragrances. This is yet another extension of my creative expression. I designed the scent and bottle with my Barnz in mind," she said in a statement.

Nicki has made no secret of her desire to have her own scent, saying recently, "Hopefully I'll do one this year. I like scents that feel summery, but have a va-va-voom. I want to smell like a sexy and confident woman, not like candy."

Nicki - who is famed for her eccentric dress sense - is following in the footsteps of lots of celebrities who have released their own perfumes, including Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham.

Selena Gomez’s Fragrance Inspired by Olsen Twins

Selena Gomez FragranceSelena Gomez was inspired to create her own fragrance by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The 19-year-old former Disney star had been yearning to come up with her own scent since falling in love with the Two of a Kind stars' body sprays as a child.

"I've always wanted to [create my own fragrance] since Mary-Kate and Ashley had their little body sprays - I loved those and was obsessed with them," she said.

And now her wish has come true with her perfume, named simply "Selena Gomez," hitting stores soon.

Explaining her decision to avoid the usual raft of whimsical names, the actress told US Weekly, "It's called my name, because I didn't want to get all philosophical with my first one. I wanted it to be representing me so it's really fun, very sophisticated and also fruity. The only way I can describe it is yummy!"

Selena tested the scent on her loyal fans, and even had them flown in from across the globe because their opinion is so valuable to her: "They're the ones wearing it, so I trust them - their opinions and everything that they've done for me."

Rihanna Planning Male Fragrance

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty,

RihannaRihanna is working on a male fragrance - because she wants to wear it.

The 24-year-old star launched her debut perfume, Reb'l Fleur, last year before following it up with Rebelle, and has plans to expand the range further in the coming months.

"Definitely a fashion line, and I have two fragrances out plus I'm working on a male scent. But it will be unisex, because I love wearing men's fragrances. You know how you love to smell like your boyfriend all day?" she said when asked about what she's working on next.

The Battleship star also admitted to feeling insecure about her legs but has learned to embrace her flaws: "I'm insecure about my legs. Everyone wants to have slim, tones legs and I'm the same. I do weights but I don't want my legs to bulk up, so I do a lot of cardio too. I really don't think anyone is 100 per cent body confident. But you get comfortable with the fact that it's your body and it is what it is. You just want what someone else has, but that doesn't mean what you have isn't beautiful. Because other people always want what you have too. You have to just learn to accept your body."

Eva Longoria’s Adventurous Perfume

Eva Longoria's EVAmourEva Longoria was more adventurous when creating her second perfume.

The Desperate Housewives beauty is preparing to release EVAmour by Eva Longoria, the follow up to Eva by Eva Longoria and says she jumped at the chance to experiment with notes while working on the new fragrance.

"I'm not used to something that is so layered, and the second one is pretty layered with some pink lady apple and red currant. The first fragrance is a little simpler. It is like when you start drinking wine. I started with white wine and have gone into the more complex, red wine. I am taking baby steps into the more complex notes. You have different fragrances for different moods. If you are feeling seductive and sophisticated, wanting to go out and make a bolder statement, you wear the second one. If you are working around other people in an office, the first one might be more appropriate."

Eva also admitted the decision to create a signature perfume was partly selfish because of allergies which affected what fragrances she could wear: "It was born out of necessity. I wanted to create a perfume I could wear, so it grew it out of some selfishness."

Adam Levine ‘Cringed’ at Fragrance Offer

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty,

Adam LevineAdam Levine ''cringed'' when he was offered the chance to release a fragrance.

The 33-year-old Maroon 5 singer - who has previously expressed his distaste for celebrity scents - admits he wasn't keen until curiosity got the better of him.

"I'm not going to lie, I cringed the first time I heard. But at the end of the day, I thought that it was a cop-out to say, 'Oh, that's lame. I don't want to do that.' I love fashion; there are a lot of things I'd like to express creatively in the world. I like to think that I have decent taste, so why not try it and do a good version?"

But he insisted on remaining in control of the 222 perfumes throughout the design stages: "I've seen cool, sexy, inspiring things in fragrances. If I'm emulating those things, then I love it. If I'm not putting any effort into it, if I'm cashing in and just letting it go and having nothing to do with the creative process, I'm not interested."

Nicole Richie: I’m No Fashion Icon

Nicole Richie at this year's Golden GlobesNicole Richie admits she's no "fashion icon" as far as her family is concerned.

The Winter Kate designer may be a mentor on American show Fashion Star, but says when she's at home, she is anything but.

"I'll tell you right now that no one's calling me a fashion icon. Now that you mentioned it, I'm going to start requesting that Joel start calling me that once every day, at least."

The 30-year-old former party girl - who is also the brain behind accessories line House of Harlow - has now branched out into fragrances with her new scent set to hit the stores in autumn.

"I knew exactly what I wanted to do because my mum would wear a combination of a few different oils and a few different lotions. It's a smell that's very special to me and reminds me of my mum," she told USA Today, explaining her perfume choice.
