Fashion Police: Paris Hilton as a Futuristic Gladiator

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities,

Paris Hilton

Making an appearance at the launch event for Lady Gaga's latest fragrance, Fame, Paris Hilton apparently looked to both Madonna and the Roman gladiators when she put together this ensemble. So is Paris' dress chic in a dramatic and structural Gareth Pugh way, or is it just downright trying too hard to fit into Lady Gaga's event?

Items Du Jour: Rihanna on Vogue, Lana Del Rey for H&M

Miley Cyrus+ Angelina Jolie was photographed on her way to meeting Turkish leaders to discuss the crisis in Syria looking like she just walked off the runway. Or perhaps maybe she just borrowed the loose, flowing, ground-length gown from her latest film, Maleficent.

+ Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus was snapped up wearing a black crop top with a pair of pants that could easily have been her pajamas; however, she strangely seems to be pulling the look off. Perhaps this is the magical work of her new, daring 'do?

+ Avid Twitter poster Rihanna broke her own news that she'll be covering Vogue a second time; Annie Leibovitz is again set to photograph the singer for the fashion glossy.

+ H&M released a behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming Lana Del Rey campaign, which was shot as a music video of the singer covering "Blue Velvet." Of course, because no one wants to be all that original these days, it looks very much like the David Lynch film of the same name.

Victoria Beckham Channels Sporty Spice

Victoria Beckham

In what could only mean the end of times, Victoria Beckham was snapped up in public wearing a track suit and sneakers.

Why is this news, you ask? Well if you're remotely into fashion and have ever followed Posh Spice's style career, she has never set foot on the streets in anything less than pumps, let alone wearing an outfit that a normal human would wear. She also told a French magazine a few months ago that one would never witness her in such attire: "You’ll never see me on the street in a tracksuit. I just love fashion too much to wear a tracksuit!"

Fashion Police: JLo Channels the White Witch

Jennifer Lopez in concert

There's just something really wrong about Jennifer Lopez wearing what could pass as a figure skating costume in the middle of August.

The former American Idol judge returned to the stage in Anaheim, California wearing a whole lot of furry white stuff and sparkles. While we know how Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj are constantly trying to out-high fashion each other, isn't JLo above that? Is her ice queen attire a cool surprise for summer, or is it just wrong?

Beyonce’s Fashion Disaster at Met Costume Institute Gala

Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles was a contender for worst dressed at the Met Costume Institute Gala in New York on Monday night.

The usually stylish singer donned a Givenchy Haute Couture gown for the occasion - which this year celebrated Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli - but the sequinned, feathered disaster failed to impress as she arrived at the event at the city's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Fashion Police: Nicki Minaj Walks on the Wild Side

Nicki Minaj at LAX

Someone should have probably informed Nicki Minaj that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

The rapper -- now currently sporting blonde hair -- stepped out of LAX looking quite normal by her standards, but perhaps embracing too much animal print. While "over the top" is Minaj's trademark, was the pink bag just a bit overboard, or does it match her shade of lipstick just right?

David Beckham Cringes About Matching Leather Outfits

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,

David and Victoria BeckhamDavid Beckham still cringes about the time he and wife Victoria wore matching leather outfits.

The couple - who have been married 13 years - donned his and hers black Versace biker suits for one of the fashion house's parties in 1999.

Looking back on some of his style choices, David, 36, admits it was a low point: "Me and Victoria wore matching black leather outfits once. They were Versace. But that's one when I look back and am like, 'What were we thinking?' We laugh about that one. I remember that it's really good until you do it as a couple."

The father-of-four has never been shy of making a statement, having even once worn a sarong for a night out. "I look back on some stuff and think I can't believe I actually wore that. I have no regrets, though - I knew at the time it was good."

But he insists his choices have nothing to do with his 37-year-old fashion designer wife. "I was [once] a pageboy and had a choice between wearing some boring old suit or a pair of knickerbockers with ballerina tights and slippers. So I went with the tights. It's not that I always wanted to be different, but I knew what I liked."

Fashion Police: Katy Perry is So, So Blue

Katy Perry

To color-coordinate with one's hair... or not to color-coordinate with one's hair -- that is the question!

For pop star Katy Perry, it looks like she can pull off the blue hue without looking like she ought to belong in a certain Vegas musical group. Are the jacket or pill-shaped purse too much for her shocking hair follicles? What do you think of the former Mrs. Russell Brand's Poseidon-influenced look?

Fashion Police: Fergie is Too Cool For Zippers

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

Fergie

Something tells me that Fergie ought to be looking for another stylist. Or maybe she just ought to purchase borrow designer dresses that fit her properly.

The Black Eyed Peas singer was spotted at a Los Angeles In Style event wearing this Jean-Charles de Castelbajac number. While a dress that features Felix the Cat in a rather religious-looking light is already questionable (de Castelbajac is known for slapping pop culture all over his eccentric pieces), the larger concern is the back of the dress, which clearly cannot be zipped up all the way. While we all get a bit sad when our favorite dresses don't quite fit anymore, it beats the embarrassment of wearing something that is obviously two sizes too small for you. Just let it go, Fergie -- I'm sure there were better looks in your closet than this!

Is she making a statement about how we should never leave a favorite dress behind, or has she completely lost her sense of style?

Fashion Police: Demi Lovato Takes a Plunge

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, News,

Demi Lovato

It looks like Blake Lively might have some competition in the revealing wardrobe department.

Pop singer Demi Lovato appeared at the Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas wearing a maroon dress with a plunging neck line that seemed a bit reminiscient of a certain J.Lo number. At 19, she's probably trying to make a "I'm not a little Disney girl anymore" statement, but there are undoubtedly other, classier, more stylish ways of accomplishing it.

Is Lovato's latest red carpet look ill-fitting or appropriately her?
