To me, Karl Lagerfeld can do no wrong. Case in point: he makes consumers want to buy washing machines.
The creative director of Chanel recently lent his modeling skills to French mail-order company 3 Suisses for their catalogue. He said of posing with the unconventional prop, “It is so chic and pretty. I would like to have one—not to wash clothes but to put in my dressing room to hold my dirty laundry.”

I guess looking like Coco doesn’t guarantee a lifelong gig with Chanel.
Lily Allen has been dropped as the face of the brand’s handbags. The “Not Fair” singer fronted an advertising campaign for the French fashion house’s Coco Cocoon bag last year, but her contract has now expired and won’t be renewed and has been replaced by Vanessa Paradis.

Karl Lagerfeld Loves Georgia May Jagger

Karl Lagerfeld says Georgia Jagger is the perfect choice to model Chanel.
The creative director of the renowned fashion house was hugely impressed when the 18-year-old rising catwalk star modeled Chanel‘s Cruise 2010 Saint-Tropez collection in Cannes last week and thinks it is the start of successful working union.
He told Vogue UK, “Miss Jagger is the modern girl. She is the girl of today. There is a total identification between her and the clothes. They could be her clothes. She is totally at home in Chanel. And that fits in the pattern of what Saint-Tropez can represent, what it is not really and yet what it can inspire.”
Georgia - the daughter of Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger and former model Jerry Hall - walked the catwalk in front of a star-studded audience, which included Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger and Lady Amanda Harlech.
The British Model of the Year also appears in the lookbook for the new collection.

- While her Wal-Mart lines aren’t faring well in sales, Miley Cyrus isn’t looking too worried these days, as she flashes her leopard print bra for the public while picking up some grub. While the matching prints are a bit tacky, it’s nice to see that she’s actually wearing a bra.
- Janet Jackson was spotted in London yesterday, having chopped off her locks. While I was never a fan of the Amber Rose trend, I can’t say that I’m hating Jackson’s look!
- I love Michelle Williams and I love Chanel, but when the pair were together for the after party of her film Blue Valentine‘s premiere, I fell out of love for what looked like Grandma’s satin bed sheet vengeance. Her new short hair style is killer, but not with the plain fabric wrap.

- Kate Moss have some fairly interesting ideas, but I do have to give it to her for innovation. - At last night’s big Belvedere Pink Grapefruit event in New York, Ashley Olsen revealed that a certain city across the pond will be the inspiration for the pair’s next Olsenboye collection. That’s nice and all, but I’d really appreciate if they’d concentrate on getting the line out of JCPenney.
- While it may not be London who calls for Zac Posen, Paris has caught the American designer’s eye. Posen, who has been unhappy with how New York critics have treated him during fashion week debuts, says that he wants to show in the city of love because “they understand my clothes.”
- With a slew of dark looks lately, Lady Gaga performed at the Rainforest Fund’s 21st Birthday Celebration in an all-white custom Calvin Klein creation. She even wore a light gray wig to match!
- As her younger sister Georgia Jagger steams up the latest Chanel ads, model Elizabeth Jagger is contemplating full-on nude spreads now that she’s getting older. Has she seen Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer lately?
- There’s a new bag in town, and it’s called the Schitbag. If only I made these things up. I’m almost tempted to buy it simply to tout the fact that I have a fashionable schitbag.

A favorite of Karl Lagerfeld, it’s no surprise that model-turned-actress Diane Kruger appeared at the Chanel Cruise Show in St. Tropez last night. Kruger, who is the new face of Calvin Klein’s fragrance Beauty, paired a Chanel high-waisted bell-shaped skirt with a simple black tank and fedora in addition to the somewhat-out-of-place basket.

Karl Lagerfeld Debuts Short Film Remember Now

Karl Lagerfeld was joined by a host of beauties as he unveiled his new film last night.
The Chanel designer proudly premiered his short movie, Remember Now (check it out after the jump!), in the St. Tropez, South of France - just two days before the Cannes Film Festival - with Diane Kruger, Karolina Kurkova, Vanessa Paradis and Georgia May Jagger all there to show their support.
Karl - who is in town to show his Chanel Cruise collection - told WWD, “When I do a film, I see the movie before I’ve made it. I don’t make scripts because it’s written in my head. I like short one-liners.” The 17-minute film - which was screened at the town’s Cinema de la Renaissance - captures the good-natured summer hedonism of the beautiful area, which has become a playground for the rich and famous. Karl was allowed total control over the creative process and one of the stars of the film, Elisa Sednaoui, was impressed with his talents.
“Karl is a very spontaneous and creative director. He’s very responsive and alive for that. There’s no indecision, but he adapts himself,” Sednaoui said.

One of Karl Lagerfeld’s favorite French women, Vanessa Paradis, is back in a Chanel lookbook for the labels’ pre-fall collection.
