Lady Gaga’s Fake Nail Sells for $12,000
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, News,
Lady Gaga's fake fingernail has been auctioned for $12,000.
An enthusiastic fan of the "Edge of Glory" hitmaker has laid claim to one of the intricately-designed false nails worn by the singer at the launch of her Fame perfume and during her Born This Way ball tour last year after paying a five figure sum for the unique item.
Gaga, 27, adorned herself in black acrylic nails featuring detailed gold embellishments - which were designed exclusively for her by New York nail artist Aya Fukuda - last September, but the singer appeared to lose one of the nails while gyrating on stage in Dublin, Ireland and it was later picked up by an eagle-eyed stage hand after the concert, who promptly sold online.
In the official auction listing, the crew member explained, "I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail."

+ Britney Spears recently showed up to an X Factor event wearing vintage Christopher Kane, although I'm not sure if I'm digging the floral and lace patterns on leather.

Madonna's famous conical corset bra is expected to fetch $24,000 at auction today.
The Jean Paul Gaultier-designed green silk bustier with conical cups - which the "Girl Gone Wild" hitmaker wore on her 1990 Blond Ambition tour - is going under the hammer at Christie's auction house in South Kensington, south west London.
The now 54-year-old singer donned the garment - which also features peppermint bugle beads, with clustered sequins and beads at cups and hip line - during her performance of "Hanky Panky" and "Now I'm Following You" at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on August 1, 1990.
A black Lycra two-piece, which she wore while performing her 1990 hit "Vogue" in the stadium, is expected to go for up to $19,000 in the sale of pop culture items. The stage costume is made up of a black satin bustier costume with top-stitched conical cups complete with a black custom-made all in one suit, and Lycra shorts stitched to a mesh bodice.

Daphne Guinness is auctioning off her clothes for charity.
The fashion designer will sell a range of "exceptional designs" through auction house Christie's on June 27 to raise money for the Isabella Blow Foundation, a new charity set up by the heiress to help support young art and fashion talent.
Isabella was an English magazine editor and the muse of hat designer Philip Treacy. She is credited with discovering models Stella Tennant and Sophie Dahl as well as fashion designer Alexander McQueen but committed suicide in 2007.
"We are delighted to be offering the fashion world this incredible one-off opportunity to buy some of the most iconic and cutting-edge haute couture of the early 21st Century, owned and worn by Daphne Guinness. Not only will the auction comprise exceptional designs by the likes of McQueen, Chanel, Balenciaga and others, but it will also aptly benefit and shape the designers of the future. Christie's is very proud to be able to play a part in helping Daphne to achieve her forward-looking and charitable aim," said Christie's fashion director Pat Frost.

Marilyn Monroe Dress Fetches $4.6 Million
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, News,
The iconic Marilyn Monroe dress from The Seven Year Itch has fetched $4.6 million at auction.
The white dress - which the late actress wore during a scene where a gust of wind from the subway blows through a grate in the pavement, puffing up her dress and exposing her underwear - vastly exceeded expectations as it was sold along with a host of other memorabilia belonging to actress and collector Debbie Reynolds this weekend.
The dress had been designed by William Travilla and was made from rayon-acetate to give it sharp pleats. "I wondered what could I do with this most beautiful girl that Marilyn was to play to make her look clean, talcum-powdered, and adorable," he said of the dress.
At the opening of the auction Debbie had joked to the room of bidders, "I've been collecting for 45 years and I'm only 40," although by the time the lots had closed she was left in tears. Debbie had acquired the dress in 1971 when she bought all of Marilyn's wardrobe from studio 20th Century Fox. She had held onto the memorabilia of the late star for as long as possible, but upkeep of the items had driven her into debt and she had failed to find a museum which would look after the whole collection.
