Growing Up, Music Inspires Miley Cyrus Wardrobe

Can't Be Tamed album cover

Provocative dresser ’ style is influenced by music she finds inspirational.

The 17-year-old singer-and-actress has caused controversy in recent months with her raunchy stage outfits, her music video for “Can’t Be Tamed” and her cover for the album of the same name but her stylist insists it’s just a “natural progression.”

“Miley’s style is a natural progression of her growing up and being influenced by the music that inspires her. The album cover was basically a strong statement saying in the most simple way, that she can’t be tamed - literally and metaphorically,” said Simone Harouche.

Miley - who shot to fame playing the title role in Disney TV series - wanted to achieve a rock look for the album cover so Simone turned to designer denim brand Robins Jeans.

“Miley is really into leather. Robins Jeans leather jacket is such a cool staple piece - it’s embellished without being overly done and the fit is amazing. It’s the perfect example of rock ‘n’ roll clothing.”

Miley’s new look must come as a relief to her as she recently revealed she feels “claustrophobic” wearing frills, which she had to don for Hannah Montana: “When they’re putting me in sparkles and in pink this final season, I have to grit my teeth. I can’t breathe looking like that anymore. A friend came by the set one day and said, ‘You don’t look very happy.’ I said, ‘I’m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills.’”
