Transformers Inspires Louise Goldin

Louise Goldin for Topshop

Fashion designer Louise Goldin has once again collaborated with Topshop for their current Fall/Winter ‘09 collection, and she’s going sci-fi with the knitwear!

“The collection was inspired by Transformers and robots. I have a collection of Transformer memorabilia, both old and new; I find it very inspirational. I wanted to create a range of cool jumpers; I emblazoned some jumpers with robot artworks, and I looked at the various style lines and colors from the body armor of Transformer action figures to create dresses, leggings and tops. A particular favorite - the robot jumper with the leggings, and of course the shoes which will be coming soon!”

Three dresses, a jumper, and a pair of leggings are already up on the retail chain’s site; the dress pictured above is expected to land next week.

Reading that a sci-fi franchise based on a toy has directly inspired something expected to be worn on one’s body sounds peculiar at first; however, if anything else from the collection looks as good as the dress, I can’t wait for the shoes!

Would you wear something inspired by the box office-smashing Transformers?
