Warriors at Grizzlies: Fantasy Dream Come True

Nine threes?!? Are you kidding me? Randomly checking box scores, as that’s what fantasy basketball fans tend to do from time to time, I can’t help but post about the game that’s still underway.  The Memphis Grizzlies are currently beating the Golden State Warriors 130-127…with three minutes still remaining in regulation!  If anyone’s able to watch this game, please let me know if they’re playing this game on half of a court or not.

Neither team is exactly shooting lights out, so there’s only one thing that can attribute to such an evening:

No Defense.

(Update: OK, maybe we can attribute it to a few long balls as well…)

Some key lines for the night thus far:

Matt Barnes, SF, Golden State
36 points, seven boards, five assists, and seven of 15 (yes, 15) from downtown.  Wow.  Just, wow.

Baron Davis, PG, Golden State
22 points, 12 dimes, seven boards, on eight of 13 from the field and five of six from the line.  Not bad shooting there, Baron.  Oh…and, make that 13 dimes.

Andris Biedrins, PF/C, Golden State
12 points, nine boards and a pair of blocks.  Only missed one shot from the field, but fouled out in 25 minutes.  You can’t say he didn’t try, but I bet the Warriors could’ve used him in the end.

Four Memphis Grizzlies tallied more than 20 points.  They include:

Mike Miller, SG/SF, Memphis
33 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and nine of 12 from long range.  Looks like someone trumped Matt Barnes’ seven, eh?  I guess I take back my “wows.”  Take that, Matt.

Pau Gasol, PF/C, Memphis
24 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, on nine of 14 from the field and six of seven from the line.  Looks like he’s back.

Rudy Gay, SF/PF, Memphis
22 points, eight rebound, and three assits.  Typically, this is a huge night.  Blame your teammates, Rudy.  Especially you’re outscored by…

Stromile Swift, PF/C, Memphis
26 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, three steals, and a solid field goal percentage of 65%.  Unfortunately, he’s only good for about three of these games a year…so if you didn’t have him in there, you just missed out on about 33% of Stro-show’s production for the season.

(Update: 10:28 EST) Alright, game just ended.  Memphis 144 - Golden State 135.  Looks like things haven’t changed much for Don Nelson, as he just doesn’t get the whole “defense” concept.  However, if I’m a fantasy owner, I’m circling GSW on my calendar from hear out.

What a game…OK, back to the Sugar Bowl…

Have a good night, guys…
