Dropping Dimes on the Daily: February 26, 2007

Amare StoudemireDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about the team looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!  Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks. Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts!  But read the fantasy section HERE!

The Fig Cap: Smile, Josh.  You’re about to be on a poster.

Sunday gave us a lot of action in the NBA, most of which was fantasy worthy.  To save time, and space, here’s a quick run down of what you missed if you were away.

The typical stars were out all day long as we saw huge numbers posted from a number of players.

Amare Stoudemire put up the line of the day going for 43 points, 16 boards, six assists and three blocks while shooting an incredible 15-17 from the line as the Suns beat the Hawks by nine.

Vince Carter had a 40 point effort of his own and also tacked on nine rebounds, eight dimes, three long balls and two steals.  For good measure, he went 11-12 from the charity stripe.  While the Nets may have wanted to get rid of Carter, fantasy owners love what he’s been putting up.

Mike Bibby made Cavs fans around the nation want to punch something as the Cavs lost by five, but Bibby went off for 28 points, four rebounds, six assists, four threes, two steals and 11-12 from the line.  Yea, I’d say Cleveland could’ve used that in their arsenal…

Kobe Bryant kept rolling, this time against the Golden State Warriors.  Mamba put up 26 points, six boards, six assists, three steals, two from long range and 6-7 from the line.  The bad news was his 9-23 from the field, but I’m sure the rest of his line made up for it.

Dwight Howard rounded out the stars with his 18 points, 16 rounds, three assists, four blocks and two steals.  All on a ten foot rim, of course…

We also had a few surprises yesterday.  Check out some of these lines:

Marice Evans: 26 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, two threes, two steals, and 8-9 from the line.

PJ Brown: 19 points, 12 boards, four blocks, and 7-8 from the line.

Randy Foye: 13 points, four boards, eight assists, three steals, a three and 4-4 from the free throw line.

Deshawn Stevenson: 21 points, two boards, two assists, three threes and while continuing his shooting touch, “Mr. Fifty” was 9-12 from the field.  Not bad while contributing from downtown as well.

And as always, there were a few not-so-good lines:

Shaquille O’Neal’s 19 points and 11 boards definitely helped owners, but I bet they could’ve done without the 1-7 from the line.  One!  Of seven!  Terrible.

And finally, just because he’s irritating the heck out of me, don’t believe the hype on Larry Hughes’ 14 points and four assists.  Dude was 6-17 from the field!  C’mon, Larry!

Catch you on the rebound…
