Dropping Dimes on the Daily - 12.06.07

Description
One crazy game filled with big lines, a few huge rebounding totals, and some surprise dime machines headline today’s DDOTD.  How could we expect anything less than that on a nearly full slate of games on Wednesday?  That, folks, is why Thursday’s editions are always the best.

The Fig Cap: This obviously wasn’t Wednesday night.  Keep reading.

We’ll go ahead and start in a fantasy candyland game in Canada, where the Suns and Raptors combined for 259 points.  Steve Nash had 18 dimes in just 33 minutes.  Yes, 18.  Teammate Leandro Barbosa poured in 35 points, but that isn’t what’s interesting.  He was 14-23 from the floor, and 5-14 beyond the arc.  That makes him 9-9 inside the arc.  That’s nuts.

Dallas continued to slide as they fell to San Antone.  But who cares right?  Manu Ginobili had 37 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.  The other Texas team won big, and Yao finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

In a game filled with injuries in New Jersey, Jamal Crawford had 29 points… and 7 assists.  Richard Jefferson had 31 as well, and made all his free throws.  And somehow New York wins without Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry.  Hmm…

Now how about some assists?  Andre Miller had 12, as did his opponent Paul Pierce.  But a nice surprise is Chris Duhon who had 9.  Kirk Hinrich got 16 minutes, Duhon got 36.  You heard it here first, go grab Duhon in 14+ team leagues.

You want boards?  Chris Kaman had 14 of them.  His counterpart, Nick Collison had 17 as well.  Tyson Chandler ended up with the most though, amassing 22 against Detroit.

I promised a crazy game, so here we go.  The nationally televised Laker-Nugget game had plenty of good lines.  Kobe Bryant had 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 dimes.  A little surprise, Derek Fisher had 20 with 5 assists and 5 boards.  On the other side. Carmelo Anthony had 26 with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Here’s where it gets crazy.  Marcus Camby pulled a Reggie Evans, with no points, but 20 rebounds.  Line of the night?  Allen Iverson, with 51 points and 8 assists on great shooting.
