Dropping Dimes on the Daily - 11.09.07

Devin Harris - Matt Barnes - Fantasy BasketballDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about the team looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!

The Fig Cap: Oh yeah?  But how much was your contract extension?

Only three games to digest from last night, with the Bulls being the only winless team to bring home a “W.”  It’s not good to have a team name that begins with a “W” these days as the Wizards and Warriors are still hoping to come out on top.

Regardless, we have some solid fantasy lines - which is what’s truely important in these here parts.

I’ll lead things off with Jason Kidd and his decimation of the field goal percentage.  Dude went 2-9 from the floor, finishing with six points, eight boards and 10 assists.  The assists and boards are nice, but c’mon man…score a little bit.

Richard Jefferson (25 points, six boards, 12-12 from the line) and Vince Carter (24 points, five boards, five assists) did their best to make up for Kidd’s lack of buckets - and allowed the Nets to come out with a win.  We also had a Boki Nachbar appearance last night as the forward went for 14 points and a couple of treys.

On the losing end, we had Gilbert Arenas (21 points, four rebounds, six assists, six turnovers) and Antawn Jamison (24 points, nine boards) with respectible evenings.  However, I have to go with Caron Butler’s 21 points, seven rebounds and seven steals out of the trio.

Bringing the Bulls to their first win of the season was Tyrus Thomas and the best night of his young career.  The second-year forward went off for 19 points, 14 boards, two steals and two blocks.  Now if he could just add some consistency, we’ll be alright.  Kirk Hinrich also put up one of his better nights of the season (not saying much thus far) with eight points and 14 assists.

The scoring fest that took place between Golden State and Dallas had to have owners loving the match-up.  On the losing end, Baron Davis led the way with 37 points, five boards, five assists, three treys and a steal.  Baby Al Harrington notched four threes en route to his 20 points and six boards.  Kelenna Azubuike blew up for 27 points and 11 boards (some leg injury, huh?) with Andres Biedrins bringing up the rear with nine points, 10 boards and five blocked shots.

Dallas was led by Josh Howard and Jason Terry, both going for 24 points.  Howard also pulled down seven boards, while Terry went a different route in nailing four from downtown. Dirk Nowitzki put up 22 and 11, with Devin Harris finishing things off with 21 points, five boards, seven assists and a perfect 8-of-8 from the line.

Fantasy line of the night?  Gotta give it to Rasheed Wallace.  ‘Sheed went off for 36 points, nine boards, and three treys with some solid shooting.  Not only was he 9-11 from the line, but a solid 12-24 from the field, making for an all-around nice night.  Oh, and I own him in the Dropping Dimes experts league.  Not bad at all.

Have a good weekend all.  D will be up soon with his Fantasy Jump off soon.  Until then, peep next week’s rankings

Peace.
