Dropping Dimes on the Daily: February 12, 2007

Atlanta HawksDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about the team looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!  Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks. Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts!  But read the fantasy section HERE!

The Fig Cap: I just can’t quit you!

It’s a team game, folks!  A ton of action in the NBA yesterday, and while there were a bunch of individual performances worth noting, it blows my mind that several teams managed to put up huge numbers collectively.

The Minnesota Timberwolves had the favorable schedule that matched them up against the Boston Celtics.  Ricky Davis, Kevin Garnett and Mark Blount all went for 20+, as they ‘Wolves beat the Celts by two.  It was Garnett that piled on the numbers, going for a triple-double with 11 boards and 10 assists.

The Chicago Bulls pounded the Steve Nash-less Suns, with Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon and Luol Deng each going for at least 27 (Twenty-seven!) points.  Hinrich was the king of the long ball, draining five of seven.  However, it was Deng that stole the fantasy show, going for a triple-double of his own with 12 assists and 10 boards, two blocks and a steal.

The third team to pile on the “team” stats was the Seattle SupersonicsRay Allen and Chris Wilcox put in 25, and Rashard Lewis (he’s baaaack) poured in 23 of his own.  Allen also drained three long balls, but it was Wilcox grabbing 10 boards and blocking a shot that led the way.

Following suit were the Sacramento Kings with Kevin Martin, Ron Artest and Corliss Williamson (Corliss Williamson??) putting up at least 20 points.  Artest poured in four threes and grabbed 12 boards, with Williamson grabbing 11 rebounds of his own.  Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas were DNPs, so the former Razorback got some burn, and made well.

Few other quick notes:

Paul Pierce is back.  29 points, three bombs, and two steals.

Agent Zero promised 50 against the Blazers…but put up nine, on 3-15 shooting.  Ouch.

Sasha Pavlovic led the way for the Cavs with 21 and three threes.

Manu Ginobili had a solid afternoon with 26 points on four threes, three boards and a steal.

Jermaine O’Neal racked up 21 points, eight boards and four blocks.

Elton Brand.  14 points, 11 boards, six blocks and three steals.  Not bad.

And finally, my fantasy line of the day…

Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 26 points, seven assists, four boards and three blocks (Yea…a guard with three blocks.  Sick).

Catch you on the rebound…
