Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,
If you weren't aware, there's a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in production, and April O'Neil is played by none other than Megan Fox. In fact, images of Fox on set have emerged, showing that she is sporting brown hair and a yellow jacket that stands in place of the jumpsuit of the same color that April is known for by fans of the franchise.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and stars Megan Fox in the role of April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter.

How To Write Comics The Fingeroth Way!
Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Editorials, Marvel Comics,
Hey, while you’re sitting on your butt Wednesday nights playing on the computer, you could be learning how to write comic books.
My good friend, Danny Fingeroth, is opening up his brain again and letting all the how-to out with his 5-part online course called Writing Comics And Graphic Novels. As a former Marvel editor - and one I hold in high regard - and comic book writer - ditto - it doesn’t get much better than this in the learning department. He's now the Sr. VP of Education at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in New York.

Kickstarter: A Geek’s Journal 1976

I’m a geek and I certainly was in high school.
My life was full of comics, television, and all the usual school stuff. Unfortunately, I didn’t write any of my life down at the time. But I know a guy who did: Steven Thompson, the creator of the popular pop-culture blog Booksteve’s Library, wrote it all down in 1976 and kept it up.
He recently discovered his old diary and posted it on the internet, one entry per day along with modern commentary as the author looked back on his teenaged life.
It’s a funny, fascinating look at one fan’s life, as he tries to get something going with girls, hangs out with friends, goes to concerts, buys records and comics, watches television and masturbates (yep, he goes there).

Free Comics!: Will Eisner’s Complete Run of PS Magazine
Posted by Kris Madden Categories: Collecting, Reviews,
You’re probably familiar with Will Eisner‘s work on The Spirit, and maybe you’ve read The Contract With God trilogy, but are you familiar with his WWII panels for “Joe’s Dope Sheet”? Courtesy of Virginia Commonwealth University, 254 complete issues of Eisner’s work for PS magazine are available for viewing here.
Eisner created “Joe’s Dope Sheet” for the US Army to illustrate consequences for soldiers who didn’t keep their gear up to code. Every issue is filled with classic Eisner’s technically-taut cartoon/comic illustrations.
It also hosts hundreds of old-school DIY instructionals on army gear maintenance. Even today, PS Magazine is a great read, and must-link for all Will Eisner fans. Here’s a classic example from 1954’s issue #20 of PS Magazine:

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Conventions, Interviews, Dark Horse Comics, Independent,
In case you’re one of the luckier
richer people in this world (myself not included, very much to my dismay), you are probably attending this year’s San Diego Comic Con at the end of the month. Due to my masochism, I’ll be aiding you in your panel and booth decisions.
First up are the award-winning twins from Brazil, Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá, who may not have a booth this year, but will be at a few panels:
Thursday, July 23rd: 6:00 -7:00 Vertigo New Ongoing Series/Crime Line? (Room 5AB)
Friday, July 24th: 5:30-6:30 Vertigo: View of the Future? (Room 5AB)
Friday, July 24th: 12:30-1:30pm Spotlight on Fabio Moon (Room 10)
Now go have some geeky, nerdish fun on my behalf.

An interview with Neal Adams
Posted by Todd Matthy Categories: Interviews,
With New York Comic Con having just passed earlier this month, I’ve decided to bring to you this gem from last year’s convention. Here is an interview I conducted with the legendary, Neal Adams. Unfortunately, I was not able to publish this interview until now. (I’m sorry, Neal) But, Neal is so interesting that an interview from last year is too good to let sit idle. So, without further ado, Neal Adams.
