MICHELE BACHMANN: False Witness Comic Book!

If you’re not from Minnesota, you might know Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) only as a rightwing politician who says something crazy every time she appears on television, usually on Fox News, the propaganda arm of the Republican Party.

Now, Minnesota writer and artist Bill Prendergast (a journalist who’s part of the Dump Bachmann movement) and an assortment of talented artists including Dan Olson, Danno Klownowski and Lupi have put together a comic book called “False Witness” that uses Michelle’s own extremist and dangerous quotes

to expose her for what she really is: an uneducated, fear-mongering hysteric.

“False Witness” is a mash-up of biographical comic, classic underground comix and political statement. And judging from the sample pages over at Minnesota’s City Pages, it’s also pretty funny. With editorial cartooning in the daily newspapers on the decline, it’s nice to see someone trying their political hand at comic books.

Here are a few sample quotes, straight from the mouth of Michele and pulled from the Dump Bachmann website.

“No wonder people right now who are gun owners are purchasing weapons and are purchasing ammunition.”

“Literally, if we took away the minimum wage—if conceivably it was gone—we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.”

“In some ways, to believe in evolution is almost like a following; a cult following — if you don’t believe in evolution, you’re considered completely backward. That seems to me very indicative of bias as well.”

“False Witness” is supposed to be on sale later this month.

Comments:

Hi Bob—Thanks for the comment, but nothing in the plug for the Michelle Bachmann comic is actually “hateful rhetoric” as you call it. Though it’s nice to see you using your Republican Party talking points to demonize anything you disagree with as hateful. Also, this is a comic book site and I was talking about a comic book, one that has a political theme to it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve just received an exciting offer from my new mailing list broker. Pleasure trolling with you.
