Lindsay Lohan: Comic Book Star?

Lindsay Lohan As Maggie PeytonLet us all pause and give thanks to Lindsay Lohan, whose career trajectory will make Brad Renfro look like Gregory Peck.

Now that her most recent trial is behind her and her most recent rehab stint has ended and she’s free-ranging in L.A. yet again, we should celebrate with a look at her comic book career.

Comic book career? That’s right. You can be forgiven if you missed it. Her clothing line has lasted longer.

Herbie Fully LoadedOne such appearance was in a newsstand digest called Disney Adventures Presents: Comic Zone, a comics-only spin-off from Disney Adventures back in Summer 2005. Back then she was still a Disney starlet and was being groomed for something other than tablets and tabloids. She had made a movie called Herbie: Fully Loaded, a continuation of the studio’s Love Bug franchise. Lohan played Maggie Peyton, the world’s most unlikely race car driver.

The 4-page tie-in story was written and illustrated by Art Baltazar (creator of Gorilla Gorilla, and artist on Tiny Titans).

In the spirit of review and fair use, let’s take a look at one page from her story. I’d post more, but, y’know, probably not a good idea. Enjoy!

She never looked better, and if I were her people, I’d hire Baltazar to draw all of her mugshots. And if she’s serious about rehabilitating her image and boosting her career prospects, there’s no better time to launch her own 4-issue mini-series. I know a writer…
