Paranormal Activity comic

For movie-goers who were still intrigued at the end of Paranormal Activity, IDW has offered up a comic book intended to provide some answers as to what happened after the film.

Titled Paranormal Activity: The Search For Katie, A Case Study by Dr. Johann Averys DMN, you won’t be able to get this comic at your local shop—IDW released the story exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This marks the first comic that IDW has published exclusively via digital means.

Picking up right after the film’s cliffhanger ending, the story follows demonologist Dr. Johann Averys and S.D.P.D. Detective Singh on their quest to find Katie, who seemed to be inhabited by a powerful demon last we saw.

Written by Uncanny X-Men‘s Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Mark Badger, the title is a great marketing idea sure to satisfy the millions of fans who flocked to the theaters to see the thriller. What makes this digital exclusivity work with this comic is the fact that the great majority of movie-goers were sold on the film via word of mouth by people who most likely have an iPhone or iPod Touch. While I’m sure there were many comic book fans in the audience, those who loved the film and are not frequent comic book shoppers are sure to get their hands on this story now that it’s available on their phone.
