Comic Book Jobs: Who’s Hiring? Abrams Books!

Abrams Books needs a “License And Brand Manager, Children’s Books” for their Amulet Books division as well as Abrams Books For Young Readers. If Amulet sounds familiar, it’s because they publish little things like, oh, Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the recently-released graphic novel for little kids, Fiona Robinson’s The 3-2-3 Detective Agency.

Looks like a nice place to work, plus, seriously, it’s Harry Abrams and while you’ll be working for Amulet Books, the parent company does a ton of great comics-related books for non-children. One of their most recent books is Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman’s Co-creator Joe Shuster by Craig Yoe.

And not only do they have that going for them, for this License and Brand Manager gig, Abrams is offering benefits like Health and Dental and 401K. Just so we’re clear here: kid’s books, graphic novels, benefits and Wimpy Kid. Why are you still reading this instead of emailing your resume right now?

If you know what a Brand Manager is, then you can guess you’ll need all the usual qualifications and requisite experience to go along with all the corporate buzzword-based responsibilities that include words like synergy, brand awareness, developing relationships, impact sales and cross-functional. You’ll probably want to get some nice clothes as well, since they have excellent office space in midtown Manhattan. Good luck, job seekers!
