Shia LaBeouf Rescues Sea Lion

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf rescued a sea lion who was being terrorized by teens in Los Angeles.

The Lawless star was attending a party on a friend's yacht in Marina del Rey when he heard a commotion which turned out to be a group of youths throwing firecrackers at a sea lion who had climbed up on the pier and he quickly intervened.

"Shia was attending a party aboard a friend's yacht when all of a sudden he heard a sea lion barking and loud noises that sounded like gunshots. He jumped off the boat and onto the dock and spotted a group of teenage boys throwing firecrackers at a poor sea lion who'd climbed up on the pier, as the creatures often do, searching for food scraps. He roared at the boys telling them to put down the firecrackers," a source told The National Enquirer.

After giving them a telling off, Shia took pity on the creature and managed to get it some food. The source added, "The boys were scared off by Shia's tongue lashing and scampered away like frightened little girls. Shia ended up feeding the sea lion with food scraps he'd begged, borrowed or stolen."

Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan Were ‘incompatible’

Shia LaBeouf and Carey MulliganShia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan split because of incompatible "lifestyles."

The 26-year-old actor dated his Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star for just over a year until October 2010 and though they were smitten when they got together, Shia doesn't think their relationship would have lasted because they were such different people.

"Carey is not just an actress, she is a great human being, a sweet girl and super intelligent. Our thing came down to not having compatible work/lifestyles. We were always traveling, and had sensibility differences that weren't conducive to living with one another. I'm harder on myself and my surroundings than she is, and we had a culture shock in terms of meeting her parents and vice versa. Sensibilities, cultures, histories. There were differences, that's all."

“Probably the sexiest woman I know is my mother. She’s an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman. If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren’t my mother, as sick as that sounds.”

Transformers Director Rushes to Shia LaBeouf’s Defense

Shia just might get out of that DUI chargeAs we reported earlier, Transformers 2 star Shia LaBeouf may not be at fault for the accident he found himself in early Sunday morning, but he is still facing DUI charges.

Seeing as the powers that be apparently don’t want to see Shia turn out like his fellow Disney stars (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears), it appears as if his blockbuster-making pal, Michael Bay, has come to his rescue!

The Transformers director adamantly insists that his beloved actor was not intoxicated that night:

“He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before… We had a little heart to heart the week before when he bought a brand new motorcycle. I [said], ‘Dude! You cannot ride that motorcycle! If you crash, you put 1,500 people out of work.’ He said, ‘Ok, I won’t ride it, I won’t ride it. I’ll just drive my truck’.”
