David Beckham to Come Out of Retirement?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Sports, Television, Rumors,

David BeckhamDavid Beckham is considering coming out of retirement.

The 39-year-old soccer star quit the professional sport in 2013 following a successful 20-year career, but has hinted he is already getting "that itch" to return to the game.

Speaking in a BBC documentary David Beckham: Into The Unknown David explained, "When you finish playing it's a tough time, I found it tough. You go through a stage of enjoying the rest and then you don't know what to do, you need to do something. Now I am going through the stage of missing the game. I go and watch athletes at the top of their game, it gives me that itch again. I want to be back in the game again. I start thinking to myself, 'Could I come out of retirement and start playing again?'"

David has just bought his own Major League Soccer franchise in Miami and hinted he might play for the team. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder added, "There's never been a player-owner but maybe?"

Alec Baldwin Retires From Public Life

Alec BaldwinDespite quarreling with him on Orphans, Alec Baldwin is apparently taking a cue from Shia LaBeouf.

The 30 Rock actor penned an open letter online claiming that he's retiring from public life. Fed up with what he claims is the media's false, twisted perception of his character, Baldwin uses most of his letter to tell his side of recent news stories that have shed a poor light on him: "But - I’m sorry, I can’t let go of this - do people really, really believe that, when I shouted at that guy, I called him a 'f****t' on-camera? Do you honestly believe I would give someone like TMZ’s Harvey Levin, of all people, another club to beat me with?"

Baldwin additionally points out that all of the bad publicity surrounding him have cost him projects, including his lucrative Capital One deal, which he says he donated all of his fees to charity. Moreover, even though he's known for being a quintessential New Yorker, the 55-year-old contemplates in his letter whether or not he should raise his daughter in L.A. instead, considering the increased paparazzi craze.

"It’s good-bye to public life in the way that you try to communicate with an audience playfully like we’re friends, beyond the work you are actually paid for. Letterman. Saturday Night Live. That kind of thing," the 16-time Saturday Night Live host concludes.

Shia LaBeouf Retiring?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Meltdowns,

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf has announced he is retiring from the public eye.

The 27-year-old actor is taking a step back from the limelight just weeks after he was forced to apologize for plagiarizing author Daniel Clowes' graphic novellas, Justin M. Damiano, for his short film HowardCantour.com.

"In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life... My love goes out to those who have supported me. #stopcreating," the Nymphomaniac star wrote on Twitter this morning.

Shia failed to clarify whether he plans to stop acting completely or simply stop doing interviews and being active on his social media platforms.

The Transformers star came under fire, including from Girls star and creator Lena Dunham, after he employed a team to write a five mile wide message in the sky above Los Angeles on New Year's Day reading, "I AM SORRY DANIEL CLOWES," in an attempt to make peace for plagiarising the comic book writer's work.

Justin Bieber Says He’s Retiring… Again

Justin BieberA Christmas miracle to some and utter disappointment to Beliebers, Justin Bieber has reiterated his statement on retiring yesterday.

Although an insider close to the musician quelled fans' shock when he initially told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 last week that he was retiring, the 19-year-old confirmed the news again on his Twitter.

"My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring," he wrote on the social networking site. Additionally, the "Boyfriend" singer hinted at the reason behind his career decision: "The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."

He also reassured fans, wishing them a Merry Christmas and posting, "IM HERE FOREVER [sic]."

Until we get a more official word from his team, I'm probably not going to trust the Twitter page of a teenage star who's been acting recklessly in the past few months, but that's just me. Let's not forget that Britney Spears went back to work after her meltdown...

Amanda Bynes Announces Retirement at 24 Via Twitter

Amanda BynesEver wonder where Nickelodeon star-turned-movie star has been? Yeah okay, me neither, which could be part of the reason as to why the 24-year-old has called it quits when it comes to acting.

The Sydney White star took to her page in wee hours of Saturday morning to let her fans face the bad news first:

“I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it… Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been apart of, I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play… I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve retired.”

While I’m by no means begging Bynes to return to movies, no one was stopping her from writing films and television shows… Sounds like someone has a case of ingratitude!

Or maybe it’s smart marketing: with her last film, Easy A, due out this fall, perhaps this is merely a ploy to lure her fans into the theater. Will you miss seeing Amanda on the big and small screens?
