Mariah Carey: Shoulder Injury Is as Painful as Child Birth

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Features,

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon with their kidsMariah Carey has likened her painful shoulder injury to giving birth.

The "#Beautiful" hitmaker has been confined to a sling since July after taking a severe fall and dislocating her shoulder on the set of a music video, and she says the traumatic experience was not too dissimilar to the pain she felt giving birth to two-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

"I feel like I have suffered the toughest experience of my life about several things; one was having twins and anybody who's ever had multiples will know it is one of the most difficult experiences ever but the reward is just beyond - I can't even explain how rewarding having these babies is for me. But yeah, breaking my rib was not festive. Dislocating my shoulder was not a good thing, either."

Earlier this month, the 43-year-old songbird lamented on her tough road to recovery, telling fans her dislocated shoulder has been the "toughest experience" of her life in an emotional open letter posted on her Facebook page. "When people expected me to go, 'Here I am, I'm back and everything's great,' it didn't happen because my hand was still in tremendous pain and it took this long for it to heal," she wrote.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Celebrate Anniversary at Disneyland

Mariah Carey and Nick CannonIf there was an award for Most Adorable Vow Renewal Photo, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon would nab it in a heartbeat.

The pair celebrated their fifth anniversary (and their children's second birthday) at Disneyland on Tuesday (to the dismay of everyone who wanted to go that day, considering the entire park was shut down for the event) - Cinderella style. Carey dressed up as a princess while Cannon went as Prince Charming; their twins Monroe and Moroccan were styled in miniature versions of their parents' outfits (cute at first, but a little weird at the same time if you really think about it).

The singer and American Idol judge replicated the fairy tale - naturally - down to arriving in a pumpkin carriage. "Slowly making our way to the freezing cold guests #donthatemebecauseimasiva #cinderella," she wrote on Twitter.

How will they be able to top this for their next wedding anniversary?

Nick Cannon Not Concerned About Nicki

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Television, Rivalries,

Mariah Carey and Nick CannonNick Cannon "wasn't concerned" Nicki Minaj would be a threat to his wife Mariah Carey's safety after their American Idol argument.

The two went head-to-head on the judging panel of the show last week, with Nicki at one point threatening to shoot the "Hero" singer and filming having to be called off, but Nick claims he was not "worried" about what was said and believes it made "good news" for the series.

"I wasn't concerned. That's exactly what you called it - drama. With drama, it's theatrics. I'm not worried about that stuff. I wasn't there. It made for good news. It sounded good, right? Good job, Fox!" he told E! News.

Mariah was supposedly so nervous about what Nicki said - at one point calling for her head to be cut off - she beefed up her security detail. However, a friend of Mariah's said she would not let the "Starships" hitmaker ruin her time on American Idol because she has dealt with "far worse" in her long career: "She's not going to let this faze her now - the outbursts won't faze her. She'll handle [it] with poise and grace. Mariah has dealt with far worse in her career."

Paul McCartney lays flowers at Whitney Houston's memorialSir Paul McCartney has personally laid flowers for Whitney Houston. The Beatles legend was in Los Angeles when the 48-year-old singer was found dead at the city's Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday and wanted to leave a personal tribute to the "I Will Always Love You" star.

He was seen with wife Nancy Shevell at the makeshift memorial created outside the hotel yesterday dressed casually, and left a bouquet of yellow roses at the scene. When fans tried to congratulate Paul on his performance at the Grammy Awards the previous night, he shrugged it off.

"This is about Whitney, not me," TMZ reports that he insisted.

Following Whitney's passing, a host of stars have paid tribute to the singer. Mariah Carey tweeted, "Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston."

Is Mariah Carey Expecting Twins?

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Pregnancies, Videos, Rumors,

So Mariah Carey has finally revealed to the world that she is expecting her first child -- but is there anything else she'd like to share with us?

Things the singer has (accidentally?) chosen to say -- or not say -- have the tabloids buzzing again.

During a recent promotional interview for her Merry Christmas II You, Carey used a very telling pronoun while referring to her future child. "I just hope they don't turn out hating Chistmas," she joked to Radio Disney's Ernie D. (Uhh -- did she just say "they"?)

Mariah also didn't exactly deny the rumors while speaking to the TV show Extra. That said, the portion of the interview where the "twins" word was uttered looks (coincidentally?) edited. Cue the video to the :20 mark and let us know what you think.
