Nicollette Sheridan Granted ‘Desperate Housewives’ Retrial

Nicollette Sheridan has been granted a retrial in her case against Desperate Housewives.
The actress claims she was wrongfully dismissed from the show following arguments with its creator, Marc Cherry, but the first trial ended in a hung jury. The program's makers, ABC Entertainment and Disney, asked the judge to dismiss the case based on evidence that surfaced during trial earlier this year, but a judge has ruled in favor of a retrial.
The new trial is set for September 10, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Allen White urged them to end the case privately on Wednesday morning. "I very, very strongly urge you to continue settlement discussions," she said.
Nicollette is seeking $5.7 million in damages and $35,000 in sanctions from ABC Entertainment for her treatment on the series, which saw her character, Edie Britt, killed off in season five by being electrocuted. The jury were deadlocked at eight to four in Nicollette's favour during the first trial, which would appear to put her in a strong position to triumph if the case is retried.

Eva Longoria Says Sheridan Case is a ‘Stain’ on Desperate Housewives

Eva Longoria says the trial between Nicollette Sheridan and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has left a "stain" on the show's legacy.
The 37-year-old actress was shocked her former co-star's claims for battery and wrongful termination against Marc and ABC ever ended up in court and she is sad it is something the series will be associated with.
"I was surprised that there was even a trial and it went that far. I love Nicollette and I love Marc Cherry, and I love our work environment. It's a stain on our legacy as a hit show. It was just unfortunate, the whole thing," she told Katie Couric on Good Morning America.
Nicollette claimed Marc deliberately assaulted during an on-set dispute in 2008, an allegation he denied, and after she complained to ABC bosses about the incident her character Edie Britt was killed off. Her battery claim was thrown out of court, while her wrongful termination case ended in a mistrial in March after the jurors failed to reach a majority verdict.

Nicollette Sheridan Files Lawsuit Against Former ABC Bosses
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Legal Issues,
Was Nicollette Sheridan really assaulted by her former Desperate Housewives boss…or is she simply desperate for attention?
In a new lawsuit filed Monday, the former ABC actress claims a September 2008 incident between herself and writer Marc Cherry was the reason she was let go from the hit show.
According to the papers, Nicollette was pulled aside and struck in her head and face after she “questioned Cherry about something that was in the script.” Although she supposedly reported the incident to ABC, she was later written out of the program.

Desperate Housewives Affects Sex Life for Eva Longoria

Hit TV show, Desperate Housewives is affecting Eva Longoria Parker’s sex life!
The actress admits she and husband Tony Parker can only get steamy between the sheets at weekends because of her filming schedule in Hollywood and his commitments to his basketball team the San Antonio Spurs, who are based in Texas.
“I work three to four days per week. And then I fly to Texas to spend a long weekend with Tony. So we only have sex during the weekend.”
Eva and Tony’s lovemaking time is further reduced by her interests away from the show. The 34-year-old actress has set up her own production company and owns a Hollywood restaurant Beso, which serves Mexican food, and admits she hates not being busy.
“I can never sit still and must always be doing something. I founded my own production company. We have already developed three TV shows and are currently working on two film projects. At the same time Tony and I are building a house in San Antonio and this takes a very long time. Luckily, I inherited my mother’s multi-tasking gene. But you have to set priorities!”

Jesse Metcalfe Turned On by Eva Longoria
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Television,
Jesse Metcalfe was so aroused during sex scenes with Eva Longoria, he was too embarrassed to get out of bed.
The actor got turned on by his Desperate Housewives co-star, when they rehearsed steamy scenes for the show between his gardener character John Rowland and Eva’s housewife Gabriella Solis.
When asked by radio station 106.5 Sacramento about how he prevented himself from getting sexually excited and “popping a wheelie,” Jesse said: “It happens. It doesn’t happen that frequently because there are a lot of people on set, and it can be very technical, but it happens from time to time.”
The interviewer then responded by asking if he suffered trouser embarrassment with Eva. “Yeah! As a matter of fact, in the first scene we ever had, where Gabriella and John first had sex, we were rehearsing and then the director was like, ‘OK, get out of bed, we have to reset the set’, and I was like, ‘I need a minute,’” Metcalfe admitted.
Jesse will be seen again on Desperate Housewives this Sunday night.
Engagement’s Over for Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton

How the heck is Michael Bolton supposed to live without Nicollette Sheridan? Again?
Despite a second go-around, the singer and his Desperate Housewives fiancee have decided to go their separate ways. The couple, who were together for 5 years in the mid ‘90s, reunited after a long separation in 2005. They were engaged a year later.
Sheridan’s rep confirmed the split in a statement released today. “Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement. They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter.”
Just this April, Bolton told People why the two hadn’t gotten around to exchanging their vows. “We’re both having a great time. And we’re insanely busy. I don’t ever stop touring and traveling,” Michael explained.
Well, I guess he won’t have to worry about stopping now…

Just about every and any fashion conscientious celebrity showed up at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (CFDA) last night, despite the death of fashion king Yves Saint Laurent.
In honor of the late designer, longtime friend and fellow designer Diane von Furstenberg along with supermodel Naomi Campbell and fashion-forward Ashley Olsen showed up to the event in his signature creations.
Due to the nature of the event, fashion oopsies were at a minimum, and everyone looked gorgeous (including the men!).
