Miley Cyrus: Too Sexy for Seventeen

Miley Cyrus

This photograph of a mostly-naked is totally legal - though, we aren’t too sure why. The pop songstress stepped out on Sunday to visit the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto wearing this barely-there creation of mesh and leather.

Cyrus was in the middle of huge last week when blogger Perez Hilton posted a questionable photo of her exiting a car. In the pic, it was difficult to tell whether or not Cyrus was wearing underwear, thereby exposing a very private area of her body. Anyone who distributes such a picture would be guilty of child pornography.

And yet, she’s well within her rights to wear outfits like this.

Perez Hilton Addresses Miley Cyrus Controversy

After the media fallout which ensued when Perez Hilton posted a controversial photograph of pop Princess Miley Cyrus, the popular blogger has responded predictably: with heavy flippancy. In the video above, Perez addresses the firestorm that began when he posted a photo of Cyrus exiting a car.

The photo may or may not have shown Miley’s most private region - which means the Perez post may or may not be guilty the felony offense of distributing child pornography. We know, we know - she acts like she’s 27. But Miley’s still sweet 17, and any naked pictures of her are hugely, completely off-limits for bloggers and the like.

Glee Creator Demands Newsweek Boycott

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Television,

Jonathan Groff, Lea MicheleUPDATE: Ramin Setoodeh, the author of the Newsweek article, will be sitting down with Murphy and the other Glee writers.

Newsweek may have recently fired the first bullet in a media war. A recent in the mag has been labeled everything from “antiquated” (Entertainment Weekly) to “horrendous” (Kristen Chenoweth). The article deals with the hot-button topic of homosexuality, alleging both that A) homosexual actors are not convincing in straight roles; and that B) we as an audience cannot accept homosexual actors in straight roles. The Newsweek piece mentions Glee star Jonathan Groff, who is playing Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) love interest Jesse St. James, and several other openly homosexual actors and actresses.

creator Ryan Murphy has come forward in the press, urging people to boycott Newsweek as a result. He says the article is “damaging, needlessly cruel and mind-blowingly bigoted.” “Would the magazine have published an article where the author makes a thesis statement that minority actors should only be allowed and encouraged to play domestics? I think not,” Murphy said in a statement. He found it “shocking” that “Newsweek went ahead and published such a blatantly homophobic article in the first place.”

“Today, I have asked GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios to stand with me and others and ask for an immediate boycott of Newsweek magazine until an apology is issued,” Murphy stated.

Pete Doherty Sparks Nazi Row

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Drugs, Drunk,

Pete Doherty at the Munich concertIn what was most likely a drug-induced action, Pete Doherty infuriated fans at German music festival by singing the banned Nazi verse of the national anthem.

The rocker took to the stage at the Munich event last Saturday and launched into a rendition of “Deutschlandlied” (translated: “The Song of Germany”). As soon as fans heard the first verse - which has been banned since the end of World War II because of its use during the Nazi regime by Adolf Hitler and its reference to racial superiority - they began to jeer and heckle Pete.

His performance was allowed to continue for five more songs before organizers made him leave the stage and the live radio broadcast was cut, prompting Pete to hurl his microphone at the concert’s host.

A statement released by the organizers said, “As the British say, ‘We are not amused.’ Unfortunately, it was unforeseeable. Live is live.”

Only the third verse of the national anthem is allowed to be sung in Germany. The first stanza of the anthem translates as, “Germany, Germany above all / Above all in the world. When, for protection and defence, it always takes a brotherly stand together. / From the Meuse to the Memel, From the Adige to the Belt, Germany, Germany above everything. Above everything in the world.”
