Russell Brand has been refused entry to South Africa.
The 38-year-old comedian was forced to cancel a stand-up performance in Johannesburg on Friday as part of his Messiah Complex World Tour, after authorities banned him from boarding a flight.
"Tonight's J-burg show cancelled. SA authorities REFUSE TO LET ME INTO YOUR COUNTRY. Trying to resolve it [sic]," Russell wrote on Twitter.
The star later believed the situation had been resolved and told his fans he would be able to make it for Saturday's show. "South Africa! I'm allowed in! AUTHORITY YIELDED TO YOUR PEOPLE POWER! I'll be on stage tomorrow night in J-Burg #MessiahComplex [sic]," he exclaimed. Shortly after, it seems Russell was given false hope as he once again reiterated he was "refused entry." He added, "Banned from South Africa. Here ready to go. Refused entry. Hope I can come soon #MessiahComplex [sic]."
Russell was expected to perform four sold out shows in the city before taking to the stage in Cape Town on November 19.

The 39 year-old actor - who is also the head writer of the late night sketch comedy series - wed the human rights lawyer in a private ceremony of 150 guests at Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. According to reports, the bride wore a cap sleeve lace dress while Meyers opted for a dark suit.
Former SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis and his fiancee Olivia Wilde as well as Kristen Wiig, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rose Byrne are a handful of the A-listers in attendance.
"They are so in love and really excited for their big day. They [were] really excited to celebrate with all their close friends and family," a source close to the couple said.
Having dated for several years, the pair became engaged last month - though another insider claims that Meyers knew that Ashe was his bride all along: He's very excited for the next phase of his life. He's known that she's The One for awhile, but it was all about timing."

Although Katt Williams is known for his over-the-top behavior, one man who attended a recent concert of his feels that the comedian didn't actually deliver much of a performance at all.
Brian Herline is suing the 39 year-old and concert promoter Live Nation on behalf of all the other concert attendees of Williams' November 16 show in Oakland, California. Will Ferrell Brands Kristen Stewart a ‘Trampire’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Television, Break-ups,
Will Ferrell has branded Kristen Stewart a "trampire" for cheating on Robert Pattinson.
The Everything Must Go star appeared on TV talk show Conan and "broke down" over the actress' split from Robert Pattinson - whom she first me on the set of vampire franchise The Twilight Saga.
When host Conan O'Brien asked a forlorn Will what was wrong with him the comedy actor jokingly opened his heart over his feelings about Kristen's affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. In what appeared to be a spoof of super-fan Nutty Madam's tearful video post about Kristen's cheating, he said, "I don't know if you follow the news at all, but there's this actress, Kristen Stewart and she goes by K-Stew, and she had a boyfriend Robert Pattinson - he's R-Patz - and she cheated on him. And they've broken up, they're not going to get back together, ever. What they had was so special Conan, you don't even know what they had, they were in love and she just threw it all away."

Ricky Gervais Isn’t Worried About Popularity
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Television,
Ricky Gervais "doesn't lose sleep" about how popular he is.
The 50-year-old comedian - who is famed for his cutting remarks to celebrities while hosting the Golden Globes and his use of offensive terms - does not want to be a "national treasure" and will not tone down his work so he can be more popular.
"There's only so many nods and winks you can do to reassure people. I can't go round doing anodyne comedy and trying to become a national treasure. Nothing bores me more. I don't lose sleep over being popular; I lose sleep over knowing I did something wrong. And I don't think I've done anything wrong. I like dealing with original subjects, taboo subjects, misunderstood subjects. I like to take the audience to places it hasn't been before."
Despite sticking to his feelings on comedy, Ricky does admit he may come "unstuck" one day if he pushes things too far: "I'm not a politician, I'm trying to make people laugh. But I want them to laugh at things I find funny. I know I might come unstuck. I look at it in quite a Darwinian way: I'm going to do exactly what I want, and see if I survive."

Aflac Finds its Voice
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television,
As promised, Aflac has found a voice to replace Gilbert Gottfried’s characteristic screech. The company announced this week that it has hired Minnesota resident Dan McKeague to replace the comedian.
Gottfried was fired after he posted some tasteless tsunami jokes on Twitter. Aflac’s retribution was quick and furious; they can’t have their trademark talking duck associated with anything that might seem to be remotely tacky.
McKeague, 36, is a father of three who competed against approximately 12,500 other voices to get the gig. Aflac has already posted a video featuring their new quacker. The new commercial will air Tuesday night during NBC’s The Voice.
