Adam Lambert Accused of Assaulting Photographer

Adam LambertAmerican Idol 9 runner up is facing battery charges following an altercation with a photographer in Miami Beach on Thursday.

Photog Victor Eras says Glambert charged toward him and attacked him. Although the 38-year-old did file a report, police say Eras did not sustain any injuries. It’s not known what, if anything, precipitated the scuffle.

According to the Associated Press, the state attorney’s office will decide if any charges should be filed against the singer.

Adam addressed the story via Twitter: “Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of.”

Paris Hilton Charged With Possession

Paris HiltonLooks like the “It Wasn’t My Purse” defense didn’t get her out of this one: has been charged with cocaine possession.

The hotel heiress could face up to four years in prison after 0.8 grams of the illegal drug was found in her handbag when she and boyfriend Cy Waits were stopped and searched by police in Las Vegas on Friday night.

It has been claimed District Attorney David Roger - who is overseeing the case - is set to sentence the 29-year-old socialite to prison, because he “won’t tolerate celebrities” who get into trouble. “Roger won’t tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior. It’s going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff,” said a source.

She is due in court on October 27 over the felony possession of a controlled substance charge, which was filed in court by the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.


Celebrity Chatter: Possible Jail Time for Chris Klein, Possible Baby for Landon Donovan

-Amy Locane-Melrose Place‘s Amy Locane has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide. Locane, who reportedly drank wine prior to an accident Sunday, killed a passenger and seriously injured the driver of another car she hit.

-Singer Vince Neil was also arrested on Sunday for a possible DUI. The Motley Crue frontman was pulled over in Vegas after some sort of accident. No injuries were reported.

-Actor Chris Klein has been formally charged for his drunk driving arrest on June 16. He could face some jail time for driving with a BAC level over three times the legal limit.

-Soccer player Landon Donovan may have scored off the field. The World Cup star, who is currently separated from his wife, may have fathered a child with a British woman.

-Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati is recovering from what is being called an “accidental drug overdose.” She was taken to a Florida hospital on Sunday morning.


Celebrity Chatter: Lawrence Taylor Charged, Mena Suvari Weds

Lawrence Taylor-NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was formally slapped with a number of charges this week including with third-degree rape. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant allegedly hired a 16-year-old prostitute back in May.

-According to a 54-year-old masseuse from Oregon, former VP Al Gore sexually assaulted her back in 2006. She refused to answer police questions at the time because she didn’t reportedly “did not want a criminal investigation to proceed.”

-A belated congratulations to America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan. The 45-year-old married writer Celia Walden on Thursday.

-Wedding bells also rang for Mena Suvari this weekend. The American Beauty actress exchanged vows with concert producer Simone Sestito in Vatican City on Saturday.


Amy Winehouse Charged With Assault

Amy Winehouse has been charged with common assault.

The singer voluntarily attended Milton Keynes police station yesterday afternoon to answer questions about an incident at the city’s theatre on Saturday and was formally arrested and charged with a Section 5 public order offence and common assault.

Amy is accused of kicking the theatre’s front-of-house manager Richard Pound after he tried to eject her from the audience during a performance of pantomime Cinderella. The 26-year-old star - who is thought to have been drinking - reportedly spent more than half an hour of the first act of the performance yelling expletives.

Her outbursts were said to include “f**k Cinders, Prince Charming, marry me” and branding the Ugly Sisters “b***hes.” Families in the audience got upset when Amy repeatedly stood up, blocking their view to jeer at the cast.

She is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 20 January 2010.


Choreographer Shane Sparks Charged with Child Molestation

, a choreographer best known for his work on So You Think You Dance and his critiques on America’s Best Dance Crew, was arrested earlier today at his California home.

According to the L.A. County District Attorney’s office, the hip hop dance instructor - real name Melvin Sparks - is being accused of child molestation. The incidents, which occurred with one person in their early teens, occurred between 1994-1997. It’s not clear why the events are now coming to light.

Chris Brown’s Day in Court

Chris Brown and Rihanna

, the R&B singer who allegedly assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna, will find himself in front of a judge this afternoon. Almost two months after the headline-making incident, Brown will enter his plea for two felonies. He’s being charged with assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and for making criminal threats.

This will be Brown’s second appearance in court to answer to the charges. Last month, Brown and his attorney requested (and received) a postponement. The hearing will now take place this afternoon, behind closed doors.

E! Online will offer a live feed of the proceedings, which will be available beginning at 3pm PT. According to the attorneys involved, has been “a cooperating victim” for the prosecution. Currently, she’s staying in Barbados.
