Travis Barker Wrongly Accused of Being in a Gang Because of His Tattoos
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Legal Issues,
Travis Barker believes that his tattoos make police suspicious of him.
The Blink-182 drummer claims he has been unfairly "profiled" twice by the Los Angeles Police Department who immediately presumed him to be a drug-dealer and a member of a violent gang because of his extensive body art.
A spokesperson for the 39-year-old rocker told gossip website TMZ that he was pulled over by police while he was on his way to pick up his daughter in his customized Chevy in LA last Wednesday for not having a front license plate. The spokesperson said upon seeing Travis's tattoos the police officer "accused him of having drugs and weapons in the car" before suggesting he was a member of a gang.
His car was then searched and the father-of-three was free to leave the scene with a ticket and a warning to replace his license plate. According to Travis, this is the second time in a year that he was incorrectly accused of being part of a gang and carrying drugs because of his appearance.

UPDATE: Travis Barker has since been released from the hospital.
Three weeks after surviving a fatal plane crash in South Carolina, Travis Barker is now opening up about his recovery process.
In a message posted this weekend on MySpace, the drummer - who is scheduled for another surgery today - shared photos from his hospital stay and thanked fans for their ongoing support. The long-time vegetarian also talks about eating meat (the proteins help with his recovery), the inspiration he felt after seeing DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) and the fine doctors who have been attending to him.

DJ AM Steps Out in Public for Memorial Service
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music,
Three days after being released from the hospital, DJ AM (a.k.a. Adam Goldstein) attended the funeral for Chris Baker. Baker, one of the four victims from September 20’s crash, was Travis Barker’s close friend and assistant.
Although Goldstein’s burns were mostly covered, injuries to his neck were still visible underneath his green polo. (The attendees were asked to wear Chris’ favorite color to Monday’s service.)
Travis, who was also released from the Georgia hospital yesterday, was unfortunately not able to pay his respects his person. The former Blink-182 drummer, who now (understandably) refuses to fly, is currently en route back to LA via a bus.
