New Kids Back to the Old Routine

Sure, I listened to the New Kids on the Block. I was a young girl in the 90s - find me another like myself who didn’t listen to this band. They rocketed to success, blazed a trail for all the boy bands which came after them, and sold 70 million albums while swinging their legs back and forth and wearing ripped-up jeans. I mean, what says superstars quite like that?
Now they’re all almost forty, and they’re going to attempt to do it (or…something sort of like it) again. Honestly, plainly, I’ve never been into aging rockers. I admire bands like The Rolling Stones and performers like Paul McCartney and sure I think they’re great, but there’s also something a little sad about almost-geriatric singers still playing an electric guitar (don’t believe me? Did you see the Super Bowl halftime show?).

New Kids on the Today Show

Sorry, ladies. There was no actual ‘performance’ from the New Kids on the Block this morning. (You’ll have to wait until May 16th for that.) But here’s your chance to see if the men at least physically held up over the years.
Did Danny Wood Deny NKOTB Reunion?

Shortly after People reported that the New Kids on the Block were going to start anew, a post on Danny Wood‘s own MySpace page led people to believe otherwise.
“Hello to everyone. Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the New Year. I wanted to address the rumors of the NKOTB Reunion Tour. There has been no talk of this and you are getting it from source directly. Never say never, and you can’t believe everything you read. On another note my solo record will be released in Australia in March. There are a few new songs on it and I hope you guys will check it out. Thank you so much for your continued support.” - Dwood
But what I found most interesting about this post was that he only denied existence of a tour, which wasn’t necessarily reported to begin with. It was only announced that they would be reuniting. And how can he explain the recent activity on their web page?

New Kids on the Block Reunited

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Rumors, Where Are They Now?,
What seemed like an impossibility four years ago has now just come true: the New Kids are getting back together!
Although VH1 failed to reunite Joey, Jon, Jordan, Danny and Donnie back in 2004, People is reporting that there has apparently been a change of heart. (Or maybe simply a change in their pocketbooks.) It’s believed the official New Kids on the Block website - which has had some recent activity - will post some significant news with the next few weeks. Will it be just a one-time deal…like a Grammy performance? Or will it be an actual comeback attempt? Who knows? The girl who once saw them perform at a local fairground doesn’t care. She just wants to get on the floor and do the New Kids Dance!
