Sarah Palin

Some are estimating that governor could make as much as $7 million to put her thoughts to paper in a book. This huge total is just $3 million shy of the sum Bill Clinton received for his 2001 tome. Clinton’s staggering paycheck was the largest ever awarded a former president for a book deal.

Currently, paparazzi are chasing Palin and snapping her pic at every opportunity. Some say these pictures could go for as little as $300, but others say a Palin shot could fetch something in the five-figure range.

Palin drew attention early for her folksy charm and homespun catchphrases. Her party did not win the election, but Palin seems to have won her place in the public eye. With reports of a possible pundit spot, a talk show gig and now a multi-million-dollar book deal, Palin’s future looks bright - and highly, highly public.

Description came onto the election scene much later than John McCain, President-elect Barack Obama or Vice President-elect Joe Biden - but she instantly became the media’s favorite contender. New gossip suggests that Palin may not pack her bags to head back home right away…she just might have some gigs lined up in Tinseltown first.

A spokesman for Random House (one of the biggest publishing houses in the biz) told the New York Post’s Page Six that “there are several of our imprints who are eager to talk to Governor Palin. She clearly has a constituency and we know books by conservatively-centered politicos usually sell very, very well.” So she might as well take more jobs away from the real writers of the world.

Other gossip hints that Palin could be offered a slot as a TV pundit (I’ve got money riding on this one - I just know would do damn near anything to have her) or even as a talk-show host.

Sure, that makes sense.

Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood

Robert Wagner is a long-time Hollywood legend, known for multiple movie and television roles. Just as famously, Wagner was known as the husband to child star Natalie Wood - the little girl who charmed the world as cynical, gum-chewing Susan Walker in Miracle on 34th Street. Wagner starred TV shows like It Takes a Thief and Hart to Hart.

In his new memoir Pieces of My Heart, Wagner reveals that he enjoyed an affair with another screen goddess. I actually know a good deal about Wagner, Wood and even how figures into their strange story.

Lily has lost her leash!

Seemingly back on track with her new, tamed brunette hair color, British pop singer Lily Allen can’t seem to do everything right just yet! It seems as if the troubled tabloid target completely forgot to grab her dog leash when she went out the other day.

While I’m glad that Lily has advocated adoption at local shelters, I still don’t see why she would ever forget her poor dog’s leash—look at the dog’s poor face!

Maybe Lily simply forgot that despite her new ‘do, we’re still keeping a close watch on her. As if that awards incident wasn’t a mere month ago…

Recently, I wrote about Lara Flynn Boyle’s shocking transformation.  The former star of The Practice did something to her face that simply defies good judgment.

But let me assure you - women are not the only ones guilty of inexplicable changes.  I’m just hoping that this example might somehow be related to a film role.

Christina Applegate, Johnathon SchaechJohnathon Schaech

Anyone remember Johnathan Schaech?  The hunky actor had some buzz going for him back in the mid ‘90s, shortly after That Thing You Do! was released.  He later went on to marry (they’ve since divorced) and became a hit in the B-movie circuit.  See what he looks like now, after the jump.

Mary CareyAlthough she seemed very determined to quit her boozing ways, is apparently still having problems quitting the bottle altogether.

The former porn star was one of several celebrities who opened up about their troubled pasts on the recent season of .  Carey voluntarily checked herself in hoping to separate herself from that segment of the film industry and to stop her destructive drinking.

Unfortunately, the 27-year-old was reportedly seen downing a glass of wine in New York last week.  When a member of a restaurant staff recognized her, she was later cut off.  Despite her slip-up, Mary later claimed that she was “37 days” sober.  (Apparently things made from grapes don’t count?)

While we’d like to think that she has been sober for longer (the show started airing in January), we sadly realize rehab stories do not all end well.  Here’s to hoping that Carey’s recent incident was only just a minor bump on her road to good health.

New Kids on the Block

Sure, I listened to the . I was a young girl in the 90s - find me another like myself who didn’t listen to this band. They rocketed to success, blazed a trail for all the boy bands which came after them, and sold 70 million albums while swinging their legs back and forth and wearing ripped-up jeans. I mean, what says superstars quite like that?

Now they’re all almost forty, and they’re going to attempt to do it (or…something sort of like it) again. Honestly, plainly, I’ve never been into aging rockers. I admire bands like The Rolling Stones and performers like Paul McCartney and sure I think they’re great, but there’s also something a little sad about almost-geriatric singers still playing an electric guitar (don’t believe me? Did you see the ?).

Sorry, ladies.  There was no actual ‘performance’ from the New Kids on the Block this morning.  (You’ll have to wait until May 16th for that.)  But here’s your chance to see if the men at least physically held up over the years.

Lara Flynn Boyle

If you were listening, you might have heard the loud buzz recently made about Lara Flynn Boyle’s guest appearance on NBC’s .  For those who weren’t paying attention, the whispering was, sadly, not really about her acting.  Word had it the former star of The Practice was nearly unrecognizable.

Unfortunately, I did not catch that particular episode at the time it aired.  But thanks to the paparazzi—I can see for myself what everyone else was talking about.  If you have been wondering what Lara has been up to lately, check out the photos after the jump.
