Whitney Houston’s Mother Speaks Out
Whitney Houston's mother has still not come to terms with her death.
Cissy Houston, 78, insists her daughter's tragic passing last month in the age of 48 hasn't made her question her religious faith, but she has still not fully accepted the tragedy.
"I have my moments ... I'm not there yet. I am a true believer in God. If I could bring her back I would, but that's not possible," she said.
Cissy praised her "wonderful" daughter and spoke of her pride in the "I Will Always Love You" hitmaker's career achievements: "She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here. She was a wonderful person. She was very special to me. She was my only daughter, and a good one."
The gospel singer believes she did her best to raise Whitney - who had struggled with drug addiction in the past - the right way and doesn't have any regrets. "I know I did the best I could. I don't blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything."
And Cissy also condemned reports that her daughter - who had a 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina with ex-husband Bobby Brown - had little of her fortune left when she died. "Whitney did not die broke. She's not broke. She's not anything. None of that crap."
