Actress Charged with Stalking Alec Baldwin
A Canadian actress charged with stalking Alec Baldwin has been ordered to "stay away" from the star.
Genevieve Sabourin, 40, appeared in a New York court on Monday accused of stalking and aggravated harassment of the 30 Rock actor after he reported her to police. According to prosecutors, Alec had dinner with the accused in 2010 as a "favor to a friend," but later had to change his phone number because she was bombarding him with text messages and emails.
It is claimed that Sabourin - who first met Alec on the set of The Adventures of Pluto Nash in 2000 - had to be removed from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts where Alec was hosting a screening of Last Tango In Paris on April 5, and that she also turned up unannounced at his home on New York's Long Island on March 31, and his address in New York City. According to the complaint, the volume and intensity of the emails increased over the last week, with Sabourin allegedly writing, "I NEED TO START MY NEW LIFE, WITH MY NEW NAME, WITH MY NEW CARRIER IN MY NEW COUNTRY HELP MY NEWLY HUSBAND, YOU!"
However, the New York Daily News reports that her lawyers claim the relationship was "mutual" and that "there were phone calls and texts going both ways."
She has been ordered to have "no contact whatsoever" with Alec and is due back in court on May 14.
