Wyclef Jean‘s failed run for the presidency of Haiti might have worked out for the best.

Although he only put his name in the race back in August, Jean—who officially dropped his bid last week after being excluded from the list of viable candidates—is dealing with something most elected officials experience on a daily basis: stress.

According to a rep for the 37-year-old musician, Jean is now recovering from the “grueling eight weeks he’s had.” Wyclef, who is reportedly suffering from “stress and fatigue,” is being treated an undisclosed location.

He is expected to be discharged sometime this week after taking “it easy.”
