Although we have seen far too many celebrities ruin their careers with drugs and/or alcohol, there are a few who manage to turn their lives around. is one of the best examples we have today.

Unfortunately for Robert, this achievement means he has become Hollywood’s go-to spokesperson (outside of Dr. Drew) for substance abuse – whether he wants to be or not. Luckily, Downey knows how to handle those sensitive inquiries with class.

While on the red carpet for his upcoming film Due Date, the Oscar nominee was asked (probably more than once) his opinion on the latest Charlie Sheen news. What would he tell someone about coming out on top? "It's different for everybody," Downey said. "The weird thing is that someone who's been through it is expected to talk about it. I'd rather just talk to them."

The actor also acknowledged that someone in Sheen’s situation may not welcome unsolicited advice – but Downey would be willing to share some if asked. “Maybe they don’t want to talk to me. But, I’d like to talk to Charlie. I’ve known him for ages.
