No Funeral Service for Gary Coleman


Deceased child actor , best-known for his role as Arnold on Diff’rent Strokes, will not be remembered with a funeral service. An independent attorney appointed to Coleman’s convoluted case announced the decision on Wednesday.

The decree comes on the heels of several confusing media reports, multiple wills purportedly written by the late actor, and a dramatic courtroom battle featuring his ex-wife, his ex-girlfriend and his estranged parents. Independent litigator Robert Jeffs was appointed to the case on Monday. His decision honors the request regarding funeral services made in Coleman’s 2005 will.

Jeffs believes final decisions on the case could take several more weeks, even months. Gary Coleman’s remains have not yet been cremated, as several interested parties are battling for the rights to those remains. In his , Coleman asked that no one with any financial ties to himself be invited to any funeral services he may have.

The 1999 will names Dion Mial as executor of Coleman’s estate; the 2005 will names Coleman’s ex-girlfriend Anna Gray and a states that Shannon Price, Coleman’s ex-wife, should have the honor.

Meanwhile, fans, friends and family of the late actor are left with no way to mourn his passing.
