Jamie Foxx Issues Apology to Miley Cyrus

UPDATE: You can hear Billy Ray Cyrus’ response here.

Miley Cyrus may have been the one who did the initial complaining, but was the one who ended up saying sorry.

Days after ripping into the teen queen, The Soloist actor publicly apologized for his words on . The move was a result of a conversation on his Sirius radio program, The Foxxhole, this past Sunday.

Jamie and his crew were commenting on Miley’s dispute with her (previously) favorite band, Radiohead. The 16-year-old had hoped to meet the group members when they both attended the recent Grammys. Unfortunately, Cyrus’ manager was told that they “really don’t do that.” After being turned down by the musicians, Miley refused to watch their performance and later bitched about them during her own radio interview.

In her sit-down with the Johnjay and Rich program, the Hannah Montana star expressed her frustration with “stinkin’ Radiohead” by saying “I’m gonna ruin them.” (You can hear that interview for yourself here.) This declaration later prompted a stinging response from the band’s spokesperson: “When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have a sense of entitlement.”

When this dispute was brought up during Jamie’s show, the Oscar winner and his crew didn’t offer any kind things to say.

“Who is Miley Cyrus?” asked Foxx. “The one with all the gums? She gotta get a gum transplant.” He later suggested that the Disney queen “make a sex tape and grow up,” “get like Britney Spears and do some heroin,” and “do like Lindsay Lohan” and “get some crack in your pipe.” (You can hear that

profanity-filled

chat below.)

Cyrus later responded to those comments via Twitter: “if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all.”

So all that leads back to the mea culpa Jamie issued on Leno’s program: “I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.”

After listening to all of the clips, let us know what you think. Do you think Miley was owed an apology…or should she be apologizing to Radiohead? Was Jamie out of line…or was he just being Jamie?
