Hollywood Remembers Patrick Swayze

During his exciting career in films, Patrick Swayze appeared in more than thirty different movies. He was noticed for his brawny good looks and immediate charisma; he remained because he had true talent to share. In the wake of the actor’s , many of Hollywood’s elite are stepping forward to share their grief and fondest memories of this star.

“Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes,” Rob Lowe told reporters after hearing the news. “I feel like I lost a brother.” Lowe and Swayze go back as far as The Outsiders together, and both are icons of the silver screen.

Swayze’s Dirty Dancing co-star, Jennifer Grey, also remembers him fondly. She says the actor was “a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace.” Grey added, “gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. He was fearless, and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified.”

co-starred with Swayze in one of his most well-loved films, Ghost. Remembering him, Goldberg says he was “a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can’t ever repay. I believe in Ghost’s message, so he’ll always be near.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger, an actor himself and the Governor of California, said this: “Patrick Swayze was a talented and passionate artist who struck a memorable chord with audiences throughout the world. He played a wide range of characters both on stage and in movies, and his celebrated performances made the hard work of acting look effortless…As a fan and as an actor, I admired Patrick and I know that he will be dearly missed.”
