CELEBRITY PR TIP #124: If you’re going to put yourself in a questionable situation, at least wait until after your promotional tour is over.

Just days before her new made-for-TV movie is set to debut, LeAnn Rimes has become the focus of unwanted media attention. The star of Lifetime’s Northern Lights is now having to skirt rumors of a possible affair.

According to Us Weekly, the married country singer has been romantic with Eddie Cibrian, the costar of her Nora Roberts adaptation. Cibrian, who was recently seen playing a cheating husband on several episodes of Ugly Betty, is a married father of two. (RANDOM SIDE NOTE: Tori Spelling also met Dean McDermott while filming a Lifetime movie.)

Although the 26-year-old reached her seven-year wedding anniversary with Dean Sheremet on March 11, Rimes can supposedly be seen kissing Cibrian, 35, via a restaurant video camera on March 7. The report also claims the two rendezvoused at an inn on March 14.

Unfortunately for LeAnn, the magazine revealed the story just hours before her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Live with Regis and Kelly. Rimes had been scheduled to hype her new project, but neither the plotline of the movie or Eddie’s name were ever addressed. The clip that was previewed didn’t show Cibrian either. When asked vaguely by the hosts about “rumors,” Rimes claimed “everything’s great.” “There’s rumors all the time…I let it roll off my back most of the time,” she added.

But what Rimes said on air was notably less telling than the statement she issued through her website.

Whatever happens, LeAnn should know that her husband hasn’t written her off completely. Earlier today, Sheremet, 28, sent this tweet out to his followers on Twitter: “I love my wife!!!”
